Hey everyone - I see that we have a few more families sailing with us!!

I promise that I'll go through and update the front page by the end of the weekend.

Things have been crazy this week. I'm a 1st year teacher and it was the end of the quarter. So, I had to finalize grades and we had parent/teacher conferences all day. Plus, I'm the tech teacher for 4th-8th grades, and my other "job" is that I have to create all of our progress reports/comments/class descriptions, so it's been quite a whirlwind week. Add to that - helping a friend make a halloween costume for her son and cheerleading practice for the girls and I've barely had time to breathe!!!

But again, welcome to all the new cruisers, we're gonna have some fun!!!

I know from the posts that some of you saw the board that had the picture of the mickey head christmas wreath. I really want to make it so today we went to HD and I took a little stack of each color green. I was thinking I would have to go back a few more times but when I got home I realized I had 25 of them. The poster of the picture said she used about 30 of them so I guess I only have one more trip to HD to make.

Also, for those of you bringing Christmas trees for your room. How big is yours? Also are you packing it or shipping it?
Has anyone ever shipped something to the ship? I am thinking of doing that and I was wondering if it worked for anyone.

We have shipped boxes to the ship before and the only problem we had was because we upgraded at the port, so the boxes went to our old stateroom and not the new one. After we had dinner we went to our old stateroom and luckily the people were there and they gave it to us. However, one of the kids did open up the box and started eating the candy we had in there...a little odd that the parents didn't say something before they opened it, but no harm done...we got the important things. We will most likely be shipping a box ahead this time as well...my collection of F/E gifts is getting bigger by the day! And I have just about finished my F/E! I am so happy the hard part is done...now I just have to make one for our friends and I'll be set.

Well, another busy day tomorrow with football games for the boys. We have to be at the field by 7:00 am I can't wait for my youngest to move up a level so we don't have the 1st games of the day anymore. Hope everyone has a good night!

I do feel your pain. I'm not 1st year teacher, year 13 for me, but all new text and district has added literacy standards and power standards to us. Too many meetings. I am also a 1.2 teacher but no conferences in junior high! Yeah! On a promising note - the first qtr ends in a week and Nov and Dec are full of holiday time off!

we take a small one from Micheals. You know the 3.99 ones. It is about 10-12 inches tall at the highest point. We do this no matter were we go. And we go a lot over Christmas. That is because my sister is a little wild (tattoo artist ) and wants to be the center of attention. At 37 you would think she would grow out of it. We both live in WA and it is mandatry we get together with my dad over Christmas is we are home. Now that my kids are in highschool and beyond we don't get involved - we vacation over the holidays. It has become our tradition.

This year my husband and I talked about a cruise and next think I knew my whole extended family was going with us. Next christmas it will be a secret vacation!!!!

Can't wait until I have time to look more than every weekend. Getting cold and rainy here in Washington. I have to wear a jacket. It's been in the 30s some mornings. Its back to rainy season....

Badminton coaching ends next week. Boy will it be nice to get home at 4pm instead of 6:30! Maybe I'll go to the gym. Problem is when I go I wear myself out so much that I am useless for the rest of the day. AND I don't seem to get any thinner!!!

Gotta purchase some luggage for my daughter. I took her to college with every old suitcase we could find. Even taped and sewed some together. When moved her in I threw them all out. Now she is going to need some. This stuff never ends.

Starting to get excited 60 days!!! Have to find an old laundry basket to stick stuff in to get ready.

I am finding myself on here a lot and trying to soak up every ounce of information. One of my jobs is that I teach online for UOP so it is easy to get distracted and move from classes to the forums. Next thing I know an hour or two has went by and I still have papers to grade.

Hubby and daughter are excited because mommy can't work on the ship. I could, but UOP is on break starting Dec 22nd.


I think that I am finally getting a handle on how this cruise business works. Daughter and I have some ideas for FE gifts. We still need to schedule excurisions. Haven't ordered plane tickets because I keep hoping that a value or moderate will open up at WDW so that we can go there after the cruise and spend New Years with the mouse.

Well..I better get grading.

Kathy that is cool that you work for the UOP online that is where i'm getting my masters in curriculum and instruction from. It's been great i've been able to travel and everything and still go to class.

Do we have a list of stateroom numbers for our fe gifts yet? I'm trying to get my thoughts together on this. We are looking forward to the cruise. I can't believe it is almost here.

Please add us tp the list! Just paid for the trip. This is our very first cruise and we are excited.

There will be myself, my husband (Greg) and our 10 year old daughter Marissa. I have read post about getting the children to know each other before the trip so they can have a friend we they arrive. My daughter loves to text so if anyone has a daughter around the same age, let me know.

We hope it is not too late to get in on the exchanges. We do not have a room assigned.

I am feeling a little overwhelmed with all of the information and hope to get is all figured out before we the trip.

I had a message from one of you that I have searched this thread for and I cannot find it. It basically asked me to PM to request that we get added to the fish extender list, (a one some other site???) that showed the ages and people participating so I could get age appropriate stuff. At the time I could not PM but now I can so please let me know how I was supposed to PM to get on that list. Sorry to be such a pain!!!!

Denise - Hi - I had your info already from where you posted it before for your two rooms and who was where, etc. I've marked you guys as participating in the Fish Extender. Send me your email address by PM so that I can send you the Excel file with the participants in a couple of weeks.

Actually, I think I'll make November 11th the cut-off-date for adding people to the spreadsheet - that doesn't mean folks just finding us can't participate, but everyone will have to just add them themselves. I was just updating my calendar and once we hit Veteran's Day, we're running fast-and-furious til Dec. 19th.

I'm off to catch up on the rest of the thread I've missed in the last few days while we were in Oregon.

Here's the list of Fish Extender participants I have so far (and I'll send it out by spreadsheet in mid-November for those who might want to print it out a bit easier). Please double-check that 1) you're on the list if you wanted to be, and 2) I have your cabin-number correct, and 3) I have the number of adults / children correct for each cabin. I have counted 18 yr olds as "adults" and listed them with the adults. Also if more than one person from a cabin has posted, I have each DISName listed with a / between the two. I have ages of the children in (age) to give you an idea of the age range of the children.

Now to see if I can post it without it looking too crazy. If you need something changed, let me know and I'll change it.

Note that last three number-sets of each line is number-of-adults, number-of-children, cabin number. If there isn't a 4-digit number, that means I don't have a cabin assignment for that person.
