Early to rise for excursions. Everyone has their own place & time to meet on the ship depending on their excursion. Ate breakfast at Topsiders since it was faster. Myself, DH, Sis, Niece (15), & DS (15) went on Golden Eagle Catamaran. Had to leave shoes in buckets on shore when we boarded the catamaran. Best place to sit to get wet is the very front. Kids are allowed to sit on the netted areas. However, seasick individuals are encouraged to sit in the very back of the boat and definitely not underneath. Approx 1 hr ride to the island where you snorkel (forgot the name). Boat anchors a little ways from shore, about shoulder height for a 5-1/2 ft person. They help you with you beach bags to shore and are very friendly and helpful staff. Beware, nude beach right next to where we anchored. Got an eye full. Water was a little rough; not very many fish. They did feed some fish out away from the shore by a white dinghy. Only had approx 1-1/2 hrs to swim or lay out before you had to board boat and head back to Magic. They also offered a mud concoction to rub all over your body. Let it harden and then rinse with ocean water. Suppose to leave skin feeling smooth. The kids enjoyed it. Only time mom would allow them to get her dirty willingly.
Mom, DD (12) & Niece (10) went on Island & Butterfly Tour. Not that impressed. Butterfly farm very small. Not much time for shopping and lots of walking. We all met back in our stateroom on ship to grab a bit of lunch before our afternoon excursions.
Mom, Sis, Niece (10) & myself went on Sea & See Island Tour. Not impressed at all. Very unclean and dirty -- reminded me of Nassau. Not much to see. Submarine was a small boat that had a bottom portion under water where you could sit (very closely to one another, I might add) and see fish come up to your window. Diver went into water and fed fish so they would come right up to you for pictures. Had more fun snorkeling and being really close to fish myself without glass between us. Tour takes you back for a little bit of shopping (approx 1 hr) before going back to Magic. Just not enough time for me. Would not do this excursion again. I would have preferred shopping only at the port in the open air markets, which have great bargains. Be sure and get there before 3 pm as they start closing up shop early. Mom purchased her cigarettes here for $11 per carton and she pays $27 here in States. She was a happy camper. She also bought some liquor - don't know what kind, just know it was in cobalt blue bottles, which she happens to collect.
DH, DS (15), Niece (15) & DD (12) went on Shipwreck Cove Snorkel and said it was much better than Golden Eagle Catamaran. More fish and you actually get to swim thru a shipwreck. They also feed the fish, but you are right in the middle of it. When we got back to Magic, DS crashed on the couch since he had stayed up 'til 3 that morning with his new friends walking Deck 10 and visiting. He slept straight thru 'til the next morning.
Tropical Night at Parrot Cay. Enjoyed very much. Again very good food. Mom & I stayed up late watching Dragonfly on one of the tv stations - great move channel 24 hours a day.
Totally exhausting day and going to St. Thomas the next. Whew!
Stay tuned for next day.
