Have any of you FL residents been to THE DISNEY SITE and looked over the MYWT prices. What do you think about the Play 3 tickets? Have we lost out on a good deal since they took away the Play 4 hopper passes? Just wondering what you FL residents think. DH and I only visit the parks 4 days while at Disney and now we're going to have to buy that single day ticket for FL residents to get that 4th day so I guess in reality, now we're getting 4 days for 3 at the rate for non residents without park hopping. I don't mind not having a hopper as DH and I never park hopped anyway on our trips. We would always visit the same park each day we visited. We just liked it better that way.

May I have some opinions please from my FL residents?

Thanks,

Denise

This Florida resident has had Seasonal Passes for the past 6 years. We make many trips to WDW each year. At $200, it's pretty easy to make them a bargain.

I agree with gcurling, the new tickets do not affect me in any way, I never buy the park hopper tickets, I only buy the seasonal passes and go multiple times in a year. And, when I did A Christmas Holiday Stay at the Wilderness lodge I purchase the Florida Annual Pass, which still is a great savings over regular annual pass, Look at it this way, if you live in Florida you are better off buying the annual pass or seasonal pass. Look at this web page and do the math, just remember a seasonal pass as of now is 199.00 and a regular annual pass is 299.00 (both are park hoppers) and you have entire year to use them multiple times. http://allearsnet.com/pl/ticketchart.htm

Even after all we in Florida have gone through this past year, least there is some Pixie Dust for us at the Magic Kingdom.

We usually buy the play 4 passes and then upgrade to the seasonal passes, but my husband doesn't come with us on every visit. And these are available all year long (if I read correctly). If these were offered for this month, I would be on the phone making a reservation for Christmas. But since we only have the FL resident seasonal passes (and right now my husband has nothing), it would be too expensive for us right before Christmas. These tickets are also upgradable so I would have the option of doing that if they work the same way as the Play 4 and give you a month or two to upgrade. It's just financially easier for us to break up the cost of the tickets this way.

Thanks for the opinions, but I don't go enough to buy a seasonal pass or an annual pass. I know you may be saying if I had them I would go more, but DH and I just can't, and he wouldn't go more than once a year anyway. So that's why I enjoy the trips we do take and just try to balance them in our budget the best I can.

I think the new tickets may work out for us. We just may not visit one of the parks..no loss really. I like The Studios, but only enjoy two of the rides at the most and one of their restaurants. I did want to see The Beauty and the Beast Show finally, but I'll decide once we get there and just buy the ticket at the gate then if we go.

Any other opinions from FL residents?

I think if you really only go once a year for 3 or 4 days or less, than these new tickets are for you, and you'll have to decide whether it's worth it to purchase the extra one day ticket (although that would bring it up to almost the price of the seasonal pass). I've heard that Florida residents do get free park hopping on these new tickets though. If you visit more than a few days a year, then it's definitely the seasonal or annual pass.

:wave2: Denise, I'm just north of you here in Ivan country! Like you, our travel time is a little longer than most of Florida, so jogging to WDW for a few days is very hard. Factor in 3 adults and 3 kids and you are looking at almost an entire day's journey if you allow everyone to potty more than once. That said...we have learned to get the Seasonal Pass and manipulate our yearly vacations to fit within that. We take a vacation one year...say....May 15-22 for example (you like May, right?) Then the next year, take your vacation again on those same already paid for Seasonal passes only go from May 7-14. 2 years' vacations on one Florida Resident Seasonal pass. It doesn't get better than that...

We go 10 days at a time, so we usually get 20 days worth of parks divided between 2 years' worth of vacations. At $199/ pass, we're paying about $10 per day for WDW. If the drive weren't so horrific, we'd probably get the average down even more!

Nice thing about the new pass is that it is upgradeable.

Hmmmm....when you put it that way, then the seasonal pass doesn't sound too bad. What is it, $199 per person? I love to vacation the week of my anniversary though, so I would have to do some manuervering. The first year maybe I would vacation from May 22nd-May 29th, and the next year I would end my stay on my anniversary, say from the May 16th-23rd. I wouldn't have to worry about getting into the parks on the 23rd as that would be a travel day so I wouldn't have loss anything. It's something I may consider for our trip in 2006 and see if DH would go again in 2007 considering the passes are paid for already and all we'd have to do is get hotel and save for food.

Thanks for those numbers Beth! It helped a lot! :teeth:

Does anyone know if they will still have Season Passes available after the new ticket restructuring? I just upgraded my Play 4 pass from Oct so my season pass is still good till Oct but after that I would like to get another season pass.
