Who has used the Magic Your Way Express- having your luggage taken from the Airport to your room? How long did you have to wait for your luggage to arrive? We are leaving on Thursday and I am debating using this service. Our plane lands at 6pm and we have dinner reservations at 8:30- 1900 Park Fare. Should I use the MYWE? We plan on taking a cab from Pop Century to the Grand Floridian to ensure we make our ressi's on time....

Last year (June ) I used the express lugage service. I arrived at POP around 11:30 am, andmy luggage arrived around 1:45 pm. Did not take as long as I though, but if you have reservations and need to change it is entirely up to you. Hope this helped

I asked this same question, as my flight comes in 10:30 pm, I was told to keep my luggage on my person....which I can do, since we arent bringing the kids this trip. So, I'm taking my suitcase with me on the bus!! :confused3

:goodvibes I just got back. I arrived at MCO at 4:15 was in my room at the POP 5:20. Went to look around came back around 6:30 luggage was in the room. :thumbsup2 lol times were in the PM :cool1:

We used MYWE in March and absolutely loved it. The wait for the bus at the airport was maybe 10 minutes max. Our room was ready at 3:00pm and our luggage was delivered 15 minutes after we were in our room. It was fantastic! It was so nice to not have to deal with our luggage again after dropping it off at the airport. It was also great to be able to check-in for our flight and drop off our luggage the morning we were sheduled to depart and be able to enjoy the resort and parks the rest of the day until we needed to catch the bus to go back home.

I just wish that our luggage was delivered to our house too! ;)

You're too late to get the tags if you're leaving THIS coming Thursday, so you'd have to pick your own bags up at the airport either way. Honestly, if you're on a tight schedule I'd say skip ME.

Also, as an FYI, you only need to post the thread once.. someone will respond, I promise! :)

It is my understanding that you must use the Magical Express bus to use the luggage service. You stated that you are taking a cab, therefore your luggage must go with you in the cab.

ETA....read it incorrectly, cab from POP to Grand Floridain, not MCO to POP

I think I'd stick with a cab if you want to make sure you are on time, but we had no problems when we used ME.

We used it in December, it was wonderful. We did have a change of clothes in our carry on and coming into the warm weather from MI it was nice to change. We landed at 2:30, checked in by 3:30, changed and dropped off the carry ons and by 4 were off to the MK. We had dinner at 1900 park fare at 6:30 and were back at the room by 8:30. Our luggage was in our room so I have no idea what time it arrived. We will use it again in a heart beat, its free!

Okay, coupla different things here. The service is called Disney's Magical Express (DME).

Whether or not you receive special DME luggage tags in the mail, YOU CAN STILL HAVE YOUR BAGS DELIVERED TO YOUR ROOM. The tags are nice to have but are NOT required.

If you don't have your special DME tags on your checked luggage, but you want your luggage delivered to your resort room, go about things just as if you had the tags on. Skip baggage claim and go right to the DME Welcome Center. There, they will ask you if your bags are DME-tagged. Since you'll tell them "No," they'll ask for the numbers from your baggage claim ticket, and will also show you a photo array of every piece of luggage known to man. You wil identify your luggage from the photos, and this gives them more to go on than just the numbers (which obviously are tought to see from a distance). A CM will be sent to retrieve your luggage from baggage claim, and then will be takien "into the back" and tagged and put with the rest of the DME luggage.

Also keep in mind that you don't need to wait for your luggage in your room -- it will be delivered to the inside of your resort room whether you are there or not -- that's the "magical" part of DIsney's Magical Express.

Now, as to the dinner ADR so close to your arrival time. Let me suggest to the OP that you pack your dinner clothes IN YOUR CARRY-ON and then not worry about when your luggage arrives. I would suggest you do this even if you claim your bags yourself, just in case the AIRLINE delays your luggage. This will ensure you will have a stress-free time.

No matter where I fly I ALWAYS pack for the first 24 hours of my trip just in case the airline delays my luggage. It's just a smart, safe way to travel.

So again, you don't need DME lugagge tags to have DME deliver your bags to your room.

I think you will be fine, but you might have to play the check in by ear. Did you check about a later ADR..(15-20 mins) Cab is a good choice.

When you come off the gates and you go through the tram thing, you will be at the security check point, go past than and take the stairs down on the left side of the airport. There is someone at the bottom of the stairs(with the white mouse gloves) where the drivers stand. They will direct you down the hall to the right and eventually you go down the stairs to a counter check in. Then you will be directed to your bus lane. It can go pretty quick, but you might have to wait a few minutes for your bus. Then bus goes right there(2-3) resorts max. I loved it and I am very picky.

No, I didn't mean she needed the tags to do DME. I just wanted to make sure she knew that without the tags she'd have to collect her own luggage which will add time to the overall airport process (as opposed to just heading straight to DME check-in). :)

No she doesn't, like CleveRocks already stated, all she has to do is give them a description of her bags and show them the baggage claim tickets. You do not have to collect your own bags from baggage claim.

Okay, PLEASE re-read my previous post. The absolutely correct bottom line is ...

even if you don't have DME tags you DON'T have to go to baggage claim to "collect your own luggage."

I thought I explained it pretty plainly before.

Nope, as CleveRocks stated, without the DME tags the OP will NOT have to claim her/his luggage.

Yeah, I thought you did, too

And to the person who wanted to know how to reserve DME: Check the 'sticky' thread at the top of the Transportation page; or go to www.disneyworld.com

My misunderstanding...

Last trip when were waiting in line for our ME bus we were speaking to a couple behind us who mentioned that they'd not called about getting tags and had to collect their own luggage. Perhaps they misunderstood as well.

Yeh, the average Disney guest is a really unreliable source of information. ALL of us here on the DISboards aren't your average Disney guest ....

My last time in MK, on 5/13/05, we just got off Splash Mountain and had 3 extra FastPasses for that ride, right smack in the middle of the time window. We weren't going to ride again, so I figured I'd spread a little pixie dust on some lucky party of 3 near the end of the 75 minute stand-by line. Well, when I scoped out an appropriate party and offered them the Fastpasses, they looked at me like I was from Mars and had no idea what FastPasses were and why they would want them. Wow .... :sad2:

Used ME this past week. It was great. I will use it again. We were first drop off and last pick up, so very little waiting time for us. Can't beat the price too. :)

For the last 6 trips or so I've always taken Tiffany Town Car. I like Tiffany, but free is free. (I don't really require grocery stops all the time too and a grocery stop is not worth $120 (with tips etc.)

I will say that I only saw one other person tip the ME driver (when helping with luggage). You need to tip the driver if he helps with your luggage especially. It's just the right thing to do.
