I wanted to give a little review of Magic Strollers from Owners Lockers just in case anyone was considering using them.
We have been having a trip planned to WDW for some time and like many people who visit, I have a child who uses a stroller. In the past I have brought my own stroller, rented from Disney, as well as participated in some stroller swaps.
I had read on Facebook where Owners Lockers had begun renting strollers via their company Magic Strollers. Since we are big fans of the Purple Box People we figured we would give them a shot as the stroller swap I had signed up for had fell through and I really did not want to get charged an extra bag fee by the Airline if I brought my own stroller.
I called Magic Strollers up a couple days before we were to arrive and put in my order for a single size stroller. They took my information and upon my arrival the stroller as well as my Purple Box (named John was wrong, my mother in law does fit in here) was waiting for me at the check in at Saratoga Springs. Well, let me restate that. There was a large black bag waiting for me with my Owners Locker. I opened the bag and inside was a folded up stroller, a clear plastic rain cover for the stroller, and a note from Magic Strollers telling me how to set up the stroller.
In the note, I was told that I would have to install the rear wheels that were neatly tucked away in separate pouches inside the bag. “Hmmm….”, as I thought to myself. I have never been accused of being mechanically inclined so I figured this would be a challenge. About 9 seconds later, I had both of the rear wheels installed and the stroller ready to go !
The stroller was very well constructed with seat belts for safety and maneuvered quite well as me and my daughter Kaitlyn did our Lighting McQueen impression (insert your vroom vroom sounds here) as we raced up and down the sidewalks between Saratoga Springs and our Treehouse Villa dodging other “race cars” on the path in hopes of winning our Piston Cup. As a note, apparently the stroller was pretty comfortable as my daughter took several long naps in it during our trip as well but daddy was not allowed to nap in it as I was told no, it was “Kaitlyn’s stoller” in her own words.
Our stroller also had a nice expandable/ collapsible shade to help keep the Florida sun off of Kaitlyn and also doubled as her “hideaway house” when she was mad at daddy for not buying another Mickey Mouse balloon. The stroller was also equipped with a storage net underneath that we were able to place our backpack in lieu of carrying the whole time as well as storage net that that accommodated some other fairly good sized items such as out digital camera, extra camera lenses, etc.
We used the stroller for six days while at the parks and never had any issue with it. When we jumped on a bus or boat, one simple pull on the strap had the stroller collapsed and it expanded back just as easy when needed.
All in all, we were really happy with the stroller. With our discount of 20% for being a Owners Locker client, our total price was under $45.00 which sure beat the price that you pay at the parks as well as we were able to keep the stroller with us our whole trip.
If you are thinking about renting a stroller while in Orlando, you really should try these guys out. The Thibodaux family is glad that we did.
