Hey everyone, I am sure this has been discuss ad nauseam but I am going to pretend it hasn't and ask anyway hahaha.

We are traveling in August and I am thinking a table service lunch will be a good way of taking an afternoon break (since we do not like to leave MK and come back usually). What do you guys suggest? a

Also if you think a table service at MK is not worth it, let me know that too. We usually grab a quick service but again with the time of year I am thinking a sit down will be nicer and more relaxed in the summer heat.

Cheers!

I'm not a massive fan of TS in MK but there are a few that I like for the reason you are suggesting which is to get out of the heat and have a break/rest.
I do enjoy Tony's for the atmosphere, the food is so-so, it's not fantastic but it also isn't the worst. Also I know it's QS but because it is more like TS you could get lunch at BOG.
I've always wanted to try Liberty Tree but it's too meat heavy for this pescatarian.

Plaza or LTT have some reasonable nice choices.
I feel less rushed at LTT and find it a nice break.
If you can get in BOG for lunch you can make it a nice break as well.
Tony's would be a good choice, we enjoyed our last meal there.

how about the resorts on the monorail too so your not going to far from the park but more options for meals.

Plaza or Skipper Canteen.

Waits at Plaza may be a bit longer (because it very small), so I would lean towards Skipper Canteen.

Otherwise, coin-flip.

The Plaza, Liberty Tree Tavern, and Skippers Canteen are all good options. The Plaza is the least expensive of the 3 and offers wonderful sandwiches and comfort foods at prices that are barely more expensive than a quick service. Liberty Tree has a small menu (the all you care to eat option doesn't appeal to us) but its always good and you can't go wrong with Ooey GooeyToffee Cake for dessert. Skippers is a fun way to extend your Jungle Cruise experience, but is a bit pricer than the others and we've found appetizers are where they excel vice entrees.

The Plaza is your best bet inside the Kingdom. The Wave is a good option too--a short ride on the monorail over to the Contemporary. Grand Floridian Cafe and Kona are also options. I'd take any of those over the QS options at MK (but pay out of pocket for lunch instead of using a DP credit). On edit, we haven't been to Skippers, so that may be good.

IMHO there is nowhere in MK with TS that is worth the money spent. Go to a monorail TS and be happier. Geyser Point @ Wilderness Resort. Kona @ Poly. Most of the TS restaurants at GF and the Contemporary.

I am not a fan of TS lunch in the MK, however I am a fan of BOG CS. We book a late lunch so the crowds thin. The food is delivered to you so you do have the opportunity to relax.

That place is huge so you do have a bit of space, especially if you sit in the music box room.

We love BOG and jungle navigation skipper canteen. We eat at both every trip.

Is the Contemporary the only resort walk-able from MK? I only ask because my Mother in Law really cant stand the monorail (she has slight claustrophobia) but I like the idea of possibly going to one of the resorts for lunch too :)

Although actually we could take the boat from MK to Wilderness Lodge and Poly correct?

Would we have to go back through the metal detectors if we left to go to Poly, Contemporary, or WL?

Yes, the Contemporary is the only hotel you can walk into MK from and certainly the boats go from MK to Wilderness Lodge, Poly and GF, all resorts with good eats at reasonable prices.
As for the security checkpoints still have to do them but it's pretty easy at the boat sites when you return to MK.
