Magic Kingdom Swap ***They're all here!!***

Hello...I'm just about finished. I hope to have everything finished and organized and hopefully mailed by the end of the week if all goes well. This may be a bit ambious as my daughters have 4 lacrosse games scheduled for this week and 3 of them are away games...but you never know;)

Paper Piecing is finally done. Next time I sign up for that, someone please kick me and tell me to pick something else.

Working on the slides tonight.

I am still no further than I was last week. As soon as dance rehearsals and recital are done this weekend, I'll be able to finish.

OK - Everyone has checked in and progress is being made. Any last minute questions? Does anyone need help? (Other than making the days have 36 hours instead of 24 between now & mailing day? ;))

Will you all be able to finish and get them to the post office by the 26th or 27th?

AWM - Did you do a Cricut paper piecing? Here I was thinking that one of those would be so much easier that the old way of doing it. :lmao: Then I saw one that someone did for this swap...oh my!! I'm not going to spoil the surprise, but wait until you ladies see it!! :teeth: Instead of just making it easier to do a piecing, the Cricut has raised the bar on detail! All I can say is WOW!!

I've lost my circut cord again, I had everything cut to go in the machine, knew what buttons I was pushing and then I go to turn it on and realize I haven't turned it on since I brought it back from BF's place, when I took it there, I forgot it at mine. I've checked every bag it's been in, where I knew I put it, where I know I didn't put it, and even some places that it would never be. Maybe I'll start hunting for it again in a hour or so,

I am so sorry. Hope you find it soon. I have got to get my things finished up. Today was too long of a day.
I need a break!

Yes. It was a Cricut one. But it has 6 different colors and lots of little pieces. Took me two and half hours to glue them all together. Unfortunately the Cricut doesn't like the Bazzill Bling and I had to keep cutting by hand to get all the pieces to release. So I apologize for some of the fuzz I couldn't remove. It looks okay about lap length away, but please don't hold it up to your eyes.

The slides turned out much better than I had hoped. I'm all bagged up. Just need to label it with my group and it goes in the mail tomorrow.

Mine is all done, bagged and as soon as I find a suitable box it will be ready to go to the post office Thurs or Fri.

Ok since this will be the first swap I am sending out I want to make sure I do this right. Do I just get a priority postage at the post office for my return items and send this with my items?

Normally this what I do. But my PO didn't have the new stamps yet. So I sent a check because I was out of cash.

You could just go to the post office & get a flat rate Priority envelope to send your items. You only have 2 sets of elements and they should fit nicely. Of course you have enough time that you could just put them in a box & send them first class as well...whichever is easier for you.

You have the choice of putting a $5 bill in (your change will be returned as a stamp though) or just asking the postal clerk for $4.60 in postage. It doesn't have to be an actual "Priority" stamp. I'll be putting it in a Priority envelope and they won't care what stamps I put on it...it still comes Priority.

Thanks. That's what I thought but I wanted to be sure before I sent it. I did pick up a tyvek envelope today at the PO.

Ummm - if you haven't already sent it...

It would be best to use the cardboard flat rate envelopes instead of the Tyvek ones. The Tyvek ones are too large and the elements float around in there. They often end up being bent in transit. You need to add cardboard to the Tyvek anyway & then you're paying for the extra weight.

I still need to pack up. I'm going to do that tonight and click and ship tomorrow

I just noticed that several of the hostesses have had trouble using the "click & ship" postage for the return. (i.e. just for the stamp you enclose with the elements...there's no problem when you send it. I'm assuming the problem is the difference in date.)

Could I request that you just send a $5 bill for your return postage? I'll return your change in stamps. I haven't had anyone send me "click & ship" return postage, so I don't know for certain that it would be a problem here, but why take the chance? ;)

Thanks!

I always throw a $5 in for the return. I click and ship to send. From work, it's easier than going to the post office :D please don't worry about the $0.40 change. put it towards the gazzilion dollars a gallon gas is to get to the PO for the return :)

No problem! I was just hoping to "catch" you before you put it in the mail. It would be so much easier if we could avoid the post office altogether, wouldn't it? ;)

I usually work on sending double the amount in $ as "local" swappers. I'm happy to get change (if any!!) in stamps being a swapaholic! :rotfl:
