I added this to the end of someother threads but didn't hear anything back, so here it is again. :)

ProShow Gold is good for video shows, but the size and quality of the video is not as good as an exe that displays the images at a high resolution.

I use ProShow for it's wide variety of effects, mostly zooms, pans, and fades, which the exe has trouble with.

Here is one I recently completed (about 7 MB):

LOVED  watching the slideshow!!!! It makes me realize how much I miss Disney. I haven't been there since '04:sad1: .

Cool, how did you do the transitions in the fireworks shots? I've seen lots of slideshow movies, and that's a new one for me! I love that!!

It's a new one for me too, I am always learning new ways to use ProShow! ;)

The effect uses two images of the castle, made from the same original image. For the one without fireworks, the sky is painted in over the fireworks. The upwards moving transition makes it look like the fireworks are going off.

I'm think going to use that effect again, for Illuminations!

:thumbsup2 Cool! I'm making an MGM slide show today, I'll try it with Fantasmic. Thanks!!

Very nice show Bob. I am going to have to invest in some software and start making some of these..... One more thing on my list of things I need to do :)

Bob it is amazing. I use Pro show gold also and will have to try that one out!!

Show us your next one soon!!

Nice job, now you need to get some of the shots posted up somewhere where we can see them better - a 352x288 WMV does lose some of the original photo's detail. ;)

I'm not sure how you guys find the time to do video slideshows, it's taking me a ton of time to go through my photos as is, and that's with me not doing much post-processing (basically zero Photoshop, just Irfanview and the Pentax/Silkypix RAW software)... doesn't anyone have jobs out there? :confused3

I greatly enjoyed this!! Sure makes the memories come flooding back. Thank you for sharing.

Great job, a good teaser when I need a reminder that it's only months away.
Thanks

That was AWESOME!!!!!! I nearly started crying with the castle and fireworks parts. Seeing the castle always gets me weepy!! I am going to have to show this to my hubbie - I want him to do something like this after our trip this spring!!! Again, great job!!!

Great slideshow. Very creative use of effects.

This is a great example of what can be done when you use your computer to generate a slideshow rather than having it just display the photos as a "static" slideshow. As Groucho pointed out, however, the drawback is that the resolution is much lower.
