Not sure if I skipped over this in Carrie's book or if I just didn't realize it fully, but is there truth to not being able to book the Magic Kingdom Portrait session until 45 days before the wedding if you aren't using Disney Photography for the ceremony/reception?

You just can't book the MK photo shoot November - December 2012 due to construction. But I asked if we would be able to come back during an anniversary to re-do the MK shoot and they said they could do that.

Yea, so what we are nervous about is that our planners assistant said we have to wait and we were confused by that.

I kinda have a question for this as well. Does anyone know if you book it for a later day, do you need to pay for it during the same payments as the wedding?

Like instead of having the shoot in June, we had it in August. Would we pay for it at the same time?

Thanks!

I specifically asked Dara if I could pay for the shoot as part of my BEO since we are delaying it and she said yes. I don't want to risk prices going up. Are you wanting to pay for it later?

When we were looking into a Memories vow renewal, we were told that if we used an outside photographer for our ceremony, we definitely could not book the MK shoot 'til 45 days out, but we got the impression that only applied to the Memories collection. Not sure if that's true or not!

I got married June 11 and had my shoot August 27. They asked if I preferred to have it on the BEO or pay for it separate. I chose to just go ahead and put it on the BEO

I'm not sure yet. Ulitimatly when we do the shoot depends on leave time. If Chris gets enough leave, we'll be doing it while we are there for the wedding.

If not, it will get pushed back. If it gets pushed back, I'd prefer not to pay for it during the wedding as our budget could use the money that's budgeted towards other things than the shoot.

Thanks everyone for your feedback!

Congrats! You are lucky to be falling right before the big blackout. Hope it works out for you. **Fingers crossed**

How where you able to score the shoot already? Dara emailed me yesterday and said that I had to wait 45 days before the wedding. We have a signed contract but my fiancee's brother is our photographer for our wedding. She said since we weren't booking Disney we have to wait.

Interesting....

Maybe they'll catch up to the mistake and force me to wait 45 days out...

Blah.. but either way, all I did was call her (after a few tries), and tell her I wanted to book a Shoot for MK and Epcot. She said no problem, I told her the date and that was it.

Who knows. I really hope its not caught.. but most likely, it will be. I'll keep everyone updated.

Well I hope they don't catch it for your benefit! :)

I booked an outside photographer and was able to book my Mk shoot no problem. Maybe they made a mistake, I would call again and find out.

I didn't know anything about the 45 day rule. We reserved our MK bridal shoot as soon as our contract was signed (summer of this year). I was told by the sales consultant to not wait to call them, as they book up quickly.

She was right. They didn't have dates available close to our Dec 3rd wedding, so I reserved Valentine's weekend... :lovestrucprincess::love:

YAY for wearing my wedding dress again! YAY for Valentine's decorations!

I would ask your planner because we booked ours right after we signed our LOA. I'm pretty sure they didn't ask what I was doing for photography for the wedding.
