I posted a similiar thread on the Transportation Board. I'm very confused on how to drive from the MK Resorts to the TTC. Here's what we're doing:

Staying at Wilderness Lodge.
Have breakfast reservations at Chef Mickey's at 7:00.
Spending the day at Epcot.
Have dinner reservations at 1900 Park Fare.
Going to MVMCP at night.

What'd I'd like to do is drive our rental car from WL to Contemporary and have breakfast. Then, I'd like to drive from Contemporary to the TTC (is this possible without a hassle? In other words, do we have to exit the MK parking lot and turn around and go back through the MK gates or can we go directly from CR to TTC?) Then, we'd like to take the monorail from TTC to Epcot. Later, take the monorail back to TTC, then monorail to GF for 1900 Park Fare. Then, take monorail from GF to MK for the party. After the party, take monorail back to TTC (does the monorail operate after MVMCP closing?), then drive back to WL.

You're really setting yourself for a lot of unnecessary aggrevation by being so insistent on using the rental car. It is so much easier/understandable to use WDW transportation and forget about the car. You've previously been given exact directions on the Transportation board if you are so determined to drive.

For breakfast at the CR, just take the Blue flag motor launch from the WL dock. These launches begin running at 0630 and, at this time of day and until 3 p.m., run clockwise so that the CR is the first stop from the WL.

From the CR to get to EPCOT - just hop on the resort monorail to the TTC and switch to the EPCOT monorail.

Resort monorail from the TTC to the GF and the same to get to the MK after dinner.

Getting back to the WL from the MK after the MVMCP, just take a green flag boat from the World Cruise Dock at the MK - it's the center dock.

What he said. It is the best way. By the time you park you car in general disney parking...you would have lost any time you saved.

As I said on the Transportation Board, it's not a question of timing. It's a question of travelling with two 10 month olds, a double stroller, a 7 year old, and a diaper bag. If we have to fold up the stroller, it will make things VERY difficult.

I do exactly what you have planned with one exception, I would park at the T&T center right from the start and take the monorail to the Contemporary first for breakfast. Everything else you have said is what I do with my two ecv's it is WAY to much hassle to use the Disney bus system for me.

That's what I was thinking, but our breakfast is at 7:00, so I don't think the monorails will be running yet.

Sounds Like a little too ambitious of a day for a family of that make up.

But if that is what you want to do consider this.

Your Plan already consists of taking the Monorail to Epcot and Back , taking the Boat to the CR will not force you to close your stroller , taking the rent a car will.

You could also Drive to the TTC first and take the Resorts Monorail to the CR for your Breakfast, thereby not having to move the car after Breakfast and it will be there after the MVMCP.

Or/ Drive to the CR for Breakfast and although technically against the rules - just get on the Monorail after Breakfast and proceed with your Day - Walk to your car after the MVMCP.

I have Three Kids and have done over a Dozen trips that included Diapers and strollers-- Best Bet take the Boat.

By not using the launch from the WL to the CR, you will be trading a relatively minor inconvenience of having to fold your stroller prior to boarding the boat for a short ride to the CR for a lot of wasted time driving to the CR and having to deal with jockeying the car around later...but, that's your choice.

By using the car, you have to not only fold up the stroller, but get everyone settled in their car seats (and then reverse the process, twice). If you use the boat and monorail, you don't have to fold the stroller - you don't even have to take the babies out of the stroller.

It only makes sense that you have to go through the MK gates to get to the T&TC. That's where they charge for MK parking. Otherwise everyone from off property would drive to the Contemporary (which has free parking) and take the shortcut you desire to skip the MK parking fee.

Hi:

I would take most everyones advise and ditch the car for the day. Use Disney's transportation system... It WILL save you time... The only spot where it maybe a little bit slower is after the MVMCP... depending on when you leave. Back and forth to the car, loading and unloading, driving and parking takes alot of time...

We will be down there in early December at WL and plan using the Disney transportation system most of the time... we may use cabs a few times, if we can get one easily, to avoid the longer trip back from Epcot & MGM after Illuninations and Fantasmic...

Have a Great Trip,

Mark

I agree with most of everyone else. The car for the day is just going to drag you down. Also, wouldn't you have to fold the stroller up every time you get into the car anyway? I don't see how it would be any more trouble to use WDW transportation.

We saw many double strollers when we were down there last week. The fit fine on the monorail. The only time you might have to fold it is on the boat.

Good luck!

I understand what you are saying, but with all due respect, it seems that some people are skipping over key points here:

Our reservation at Chef Mickey's is at 7:00AM. To my knowledge, Disney monorails and boats won't be running at that time. So, we HAVE to take the car.

As for the stroller folding, here are the 2 options:

1.Use the car, where we can take the babies out of the stroller, put them in their car seats, fold the stroller and put it into the back of the SUV, at our own pace.

or

2.Stand in line for the boat or bus, have my wife (or I) hold both babies while the other folds the stroller, climb up the steps of the bus with 2 babies while the other carries a double stroller and diaper bag, and do so without being in anyone else's way.

I realize the monorails wouldn't require us to fold the stroller, which is ideally why we want to take the monorail from the TTC to Epcot. But again, we need to get to the monorail or CR by 7:00AM.

We stayed at WL a couple of years ago and had a double stroller. It was not a hassle at all getting it on the boat and taking it over to CR....we too had ressies for CM. My thought is that you will have to take the double stroller on the monorail anyways, so why not leave your car at WL and just use Disney Transportation. Like one poster had said, if you take your rental, you will have to load up the car, drive it over to TTC, and then unload just so you can avoid the boat, then later do vise versa. To me, that would make for a very hectic morning and night.

What time do the boats start running from the WL?

It appears the above quoted poster answered the question on what time the boat starts.

Another option is to consider taking a cab for that first leg of the day... I can't imagine it costing more than $15.00... At some resorts cabs have an area where they wait for clients... not sure if that is the case at WL but I'm sure Bell Services can arrange one for you... Check with them when you arrive.

Have a Great Trip,

Mark

Only problem is, WL is telling me after 7:00. Sort of why I asked.

If you are referring to the boat operating times, the CMs at the WL are absolutley wrong - Once again, the Blue flag boats (motor launches) serving the CR, FWC and WL on Bay Lake start at 0630+- daily...plenty of time for you to make it to the CR for your priority seating of 0700.

It is unfortunate that so much dis-information is given out routinely by those who are not in the WDW Watercraft Dept. here as well as at WDW regarding the WDW Watercraft operations.

:confused3 why is that against the rules? Just because you aren't a paying guest of the CR? Seems rather silly to me, as long as you are at least an on site guest I don't think it should matter.
