So, unbelievably I was able to snag a private boat for MK for 12/30 for the early show. I was assured by the CM that the 12/30 6:30,11:45 abs 12/31 6:30 and 11:45pm shows were identical. Can anyone confirm that all 4 of these shows will be the identical Fantasy in the Sky shows? I was floored it was available but will remain only cautiously optimistic until the smart people here reassure me I’m not paying $400 to see Happily Ever After (ugh)

Official Disney World park hours list Fantasy in the Sky for all 4 times those two nights, and last year all 4 shows were Fantasy in the Sky. Sorry, I don't know about bringing your own refreshments; call the reservation number (939-WDW-PLAY) and ask them.

I haven't been but I asked this question in another thread. Someone replied that, at least last year, the shows were identical WITH ONE EXCEPTION:

- Early Shows don't feature the "duplicate" fireworks from the middle of the lagoon (fireworks that mirror the ones from behind the castle).
- ALL shows have the NYE countdown and perimeter fireworks finale, but only the midnight shows are 360° because of the "duplicate" fireworks being active.

Hmmm. That doesn’t make sense to me. If they are doing a dry run, why would it be minus a set of fireworks?

I’m comparing to the 4th of July fireworks now in my head and I’m pretty sure those lagoon fireworks are what made the boat experience do spectacular.

This is a totally accurate description of 12/30 and 12/31 this past year. While we really have no way of knowing if the same will be repeated this year, I suspect it will be. The 11:50pm show is the bigger “show” and gets the middle of the Seven Seas Lagoon launch point, which is really more of a benefit to MK resort guests than MK guests.

I don’t know this for sure, but my guess is one of the reasons they don’t do the island launch point from the early show (in addition to cost) is the crimp it puts on boat traffic (the MK Ferry, resort launch, and private chartered boats). They hold water traffic a fair amount before and after the show when the island is used which sort of grinds things to a halt in terms of transportation (not ideal at 6:30pm on two of the busiest days of the year).

Hope that helps.
