Magic Kingdom closing at 7:00pm May 31st

I was just looking at the hours of each park for our upcoming trip in May/June and I noticed that Magic Kingdom is closing at 7:00pm on May 31st.

I am almost positive that when I looked at a crown calendar the other day they it said it was open until midnight, with EMH from 12am - 2am.

I have never experienced Magic Kingdom closing so early. Does anyone know why?

Some parks have been known to shut down early for a private event. That would be my initial guess.

That actually kind of sucks - that is our anniversary and we were thinking of going for that night to watch the fireworks. I guess they wouldn't have Wishes because it wouldn't be dark enough at 7pm. Bummer.

Epcot has a very good fireworks show called Illuminations! It's not Wishes but it is quite good.

Yes, that's the good thing about Disneyworld you can always find something to do! Or I could go to Fantasmic, (I need to check and see if it is available that night).

You also have the SWW fireworks on May 31. They were excellent last year. I would say they might even be a bit better then Wishes. Then you can watch second Fantasmic as well.
