So Disney just changed a bunch of 9am openings for Magic Kingdom to 8. More plans to adjust. Yay.
I know most of the left side of park is closed during emh (frontier land, adventure land, etc). Is this the case for non emh 8am openings?

No, that’s only EMH

Nope, if it’s an 8am regular park opening, all rides will be open.

Could you imagine the rioting and lines at guest services if they did that? :crazy2:

Good point Our first trip many years ago, we didn't plan well enough to know and messed up that one. We were pretty annoyed. I imagine a whole park full of people would be pretty bad!

With the earlier opening, should I try to adjust our FP and move them earlier by an hour?

Just wondering if I should adjust everything in the plan or view the “extra” time as a bonus and see what we can do.

What are your FPs for?

I had an 8:05 at BOG and when I reserved it, MK was opening at 9am. The hours just got changed to an 8am open (for everyone, not EMH) and I cancelled the reservation. I think it's foolish to eat at that time when wait times are the shortest.

:thumbsup2

I personally never recommend making a FP+ selection for the first 2 hours that MK is open and that's when park opening is at 9am. When its 8am or even 7am I still would not recommend making any FP+'s until about 11am.
Just my preference though. You can get so much done during that time without it and then use it late morning to mid afternoon and then see what else you can get after that.

Us too except, I haven't canceled. I was gonna switch it to lunch, but there is no availability for other times period. We've never been to BOG and I was really looking forward to it. This throws off all my plans. We have no FP for MK and planned to use the PPO ADR as strategy to ride Mine Train. Now I have no idea what to do.

Mine train at 9:40
Enchanted Tales 10:40

The third is for Fairytale Hall at 3:40 after an appointment at BBB.

Thanks!

I actually think this is perfect. I’d do standby rides and character meets (if intetested) in Tomorrowland and Fantasyland from opening until 10:30, use the FP for mine train, then head right over to Enchanted Tales to use that FP since they are so close to each other. Then have early lunch and see what you feel like doing until the BBB appointment.

My advice would be to get to Mine Train as soon as you can after rope drop. I have done a BOG ADR many times and have never been able to ride Mine Train more than once before there was a good 45 minute wait (with the caveat that we haven't ever actually stood in that line and know that wait times are often inflated right after rope drop), so the ADR does help with getting one ride in but more than that you would need to book EMM. If you kept your reservation, I don't know how much luck people have with showing up 15-20 minutes late - for BOG, which is a QS with tons of seating, I think you'd be ok, but I can't promise it.
