I guess I need to come and defend myself. I thought that this was a discussion board and that people might actually want to know what families who have recently been to Disney have experienced since the new DDP took place Jan 1.

My mistake.
As to hating all the places as previous posters have accused me of, they must not have read my entire post. I specifically said that the food was good at Biergarten and 1900 Park Fare. I just felt that overall the quality of food and service has really gone down hill in the last few years. Also to let others know what a server had actually told us. I understand that poor servers are possible at any dining establisment (Disney or not). But I used the DDP in Jan 2005 and Sept. 2006 and both of those times were very good experiences. This time I truly felt that as soon as I told my server we were on the DDP that they were not as friendly or attentive...and we were told as much at Whispering Canyon.
As for my choices in dining, let me say that I have eaten at many of the HIGH END places on previous trips. I fully understand that you can't compare apples to oranges, BUT since these places can't handle EVERY DDP patron that comes to Disney, SOMEBODY has to eat in the other places and might actually want to know what anothers experiences were when they ate there. My ADRs were made in August 2007 for my January 2008 trip so I could have chosen most any place. We decided to try NEW things this time as well as a few old favorites. I think when a customer visits ANY Disney dining establishment they should be able to expect good food and service.
As far as the CS meals, again I realize burgers and fries will NOT be gourmet. As I said in my post, it is only MY OPINION that the quality (taste, temperature, etc.) was not what it was on previous trips. You also get one CS a day on the plan...so at some point your probably going to use them...geesh! I did eat a salad and other things too. Not all were bad, I just mentioned TWO places that I didn't think were as good as they use to be.
Do I base my
complete trip on Dining...NO. BUT, it is something that is a very important part of our families vacation. Apparently it must be for other families too or Disney never would have created a Deluxe DDP would they??? These trips are pricey and something we save all year for. We like the fact that Disney offers dining "experiences" that are not a typical, quiet sit down meal. Is it too much to ask for good tasting food and attentive servers?

I get that not everyone is a foodie, but our families are, so is it a make or break for us...yes. You don't have to agree or tear us apart. It's just an
OPINION.
As for snacks, when I said the plan had pretty much gone back to the way it was before, I was indicating single serve items, scoops of popcorn, bottles of soda, etc as being the norm. Not once did I complain about snacks, I was just passing along what we experienced.
There ARE many more receipts that come with your DDP bill because of the new tipping policy. Some servers have the ones on the left hand side of the folder that need to be signed and explain it to the customer. Others put everything all together and let the customer decifer what needs to be signed.
I did not post to whine about the changes Disney made to the DDP itself as many have done. Again, I thought I would share our
opinions and what a server actually told us. My posts were truthful although many have indicated other wise. It's really too bad that some feel the need to turn every post into an argument and make accusations.
