Magic in the Making...Our Family Takes on the World for the Very First Time! W/PICS!

 LOVE THE THE DANCE!!!!!!!
We have been in the double digits forever!:rolleyes1
I can not wait till we are at least 10 days away!
:cutie: The best part is all the fun of planning your trip to Disney World!
princess: I just found out about another great thing to do in the Magic Kingdom that I did not even know about, if you go to TSI first thing when it opens and found a paint brush, they give you a pass to be first in line of a ride.
I will PM you the details, that were PM to me.
Check out my pre trip report!

Just wanted to say "hi". I got some tips from your pre-trip report -thanks! :thumbsup2 We are going right after you (Nov 1-7) for our DD's first trip.

The planning and read can get overwhelming but it is so much fun isn't it??? :yay:

Have a great trip!

Welcome and Thanks for Reading!:cutie: Glad you were able to pick up a few tips! I honestly don't know how I'd survive our trip without the DISboards!:confused3 :woohoo: Have a great time planning your DD's first trip...what a blast!:yay:

Kristi =-)

 LOVE THE THE DANCE!!!!!!!
Thanks! They were being so silly...I'm kind of bummed that they weren't as "natural" once I took the camera out:)

We have been in the double digits forever!:rolleyes1
I'm sure it will feel like forever! I'm so excited about double digits, that I can't even imagine SINGLE DIGITS:eek: :cool1:

Will do! See ya over there!:wave2:

Those are some adorable kiddos you have!
Aww...Thanks! They're definately keepers!;)

I agree that TGM is a lot of information. I am very appreciative of all the info, but it's a little bit overwhelming!
For Sure! I'm still trying to get everything figured out!

I am staying at AKL for the first time in October as well. I CAN NOT WAIT!!!! I've only been there as a visitor, never as a guest, so I'm thrilled that we'll be staying there. You guys will love it!
We are definately looking forward to it, as well! Have a great stay there!:rotfl:

Hi, Everyone! I left off with some shopping! On Wednesday, I had a wild hair:scared1: to go the Disney Store and see what kind of great sales they had! I packed up the kiddos and we went to Gurnee Mills which had a huge Disney Outlet...they had tons of stuff! Unfortunately, so much of it was picked over, so unless you needed a size 4T or XXL, you were out of luck. And we were bummed! :sad2: But for kicks, as we were checking out (my DMIL had let the kids pick out some "Magic Mitts" for .49 a piece!) I asked the kind lady at the register where the next nearest Disney Store was and she told me Hawthorn! That was only 5-10 more miles down the Interstate, so I was game! We found some great stuff for our Disney Trip at great prices!:cool1: Here are pictures of our precious "treasures":

Kayla picked out a 2.99 t-shirt, a pair of PJ Pals for 5.99, the sweetest Tinkerbell PJ set for 11.99 (not the greatest sale price, but it was worth the splurge!) and the cutest Tinkerbell bathing suit for 8.99!

Tyler picked out a t-shirt for 2.99 as well, Two pairs of PJ Pals for 5.99 a piece, and Pirates of the Carribean Swim Trunks for 4.99!

And as a treat, they both picked out a Light Up Spinner for 4.99 each! I think they'll be great fun during our nighttime activities at the Parks! Kayla picked out Tinkerbell and Tyler picked out Cars:

And last but not least...my favorite purchase of the day! Before we left on our shopping spree we stopped at the bank with our tiny little change container that we have all been adding to over the last month or so...by tiny I mean 4"x4" Glad container. The bank teller asked us each to take a guess as to what the total would be and Tyler and I agreed upon $30.00 give or take...Kayla said $3,000.00;) That's my girl, so optimistic!:cutie: It tuned out to have $60.00!!!:dance3: We were super excited!! To help the kids save their spending money for Disney we cashed in for a few of these bad boys:

I think they are soooo cute! We purchased $80.00 worth, and hopefully each of the kids will have about $100.00 a piece for their Disney World Treasures! I just have to share how cooperative and excited they have been about saving their money...they are splitting everything 50/50...it doesn't matter who earned it or how much...they decided that it would be best to share it all!:cloud9: I thought that was so precious...they made their mama proud!

Otherwise, I've still been getting some great Samples and Freebies! It's so much fun to go to the mailbox and find free stuff!:goodvibes I'm still tossing around ADR's...they'll be the end of me for sure!:surfweb: We're hoping to stretch some our Counter Service Credits, so that we can get Breakfast and Lunch at least once by splitting our meals...any suggestions would be wonderful!:thumbsup2 And I've been hoping to surprise the kiddos and my DIL's with an Illuminations Cruise...I know these are difficult to book and I'd love to know if it's worth the $250 or $275?

This weekend we head to Home Depot for LGMH (Lime Green Mickey Heads):disrocks: ...something about stealing paint samples doesn't sit well with me!:rotfl: Will I be able to go through with it? :lmao: Stay Tuned!

Thanks again for reading and have a wonderful weekend!:goodvibes

Kristi =-)

Looks like a great shopping trip!! :thumbsup2 We went to the Disney Store last weekend and Grace picked out a pair of Ariel PJ's the same as the Cinderella PJ's you have. I also looked at those Tinkerbell jammies, but they were $24.99. Not gonna happen!! ;)

That's nice about your kids sharing everything. It will make the trip that much more special.

You got so much great stuff at the Disney Store!

The Disney dollars are such a great idea for the kids to have their own spending money for the trip.

Can't wait to hear about your home depot caper!

I am loving your pre trippie!! You have such a lovely family!!I am so excited for all of you!!!I am just wishing you, and your family the most magical first Disney vacation together!!
:goodvibes :yay: :goodvibes

It sure was fun...I just have to be sure to check myself, so I don't spend all of our Disney Money!:lmao: If your Disney Store is close by, I'd recommend calling to see if those jammies are on sale yet, as they had just gone on sale at this particular store Wed. morning. They really are just the cutest jams ever!;) Geesh...I sound like a salesperson for Disney! So sorry! :goodvibes Thanks for the links for the Sunscreen Wipes...I'm going to try and place an order soon! :thumbsup2

You got so much great stuff at the Disney Store!
Thanks...I've got to be careful as shopping at the Disney Store can be very, very dangerous!:rotfl:

Definately, and it makes saving much easier! I think I may have to do that with all of our spending money so it makes it to Disney;)

Can't wait to hear about your home depot caper!
Will definately let you know...I'm nervous already!:lmao:

Sooooo….I’ve been in the slammer for the last week after I was caught heisting 27 LGMH’s from Home Depot, and unfortunately, they didn’t have WI-FI to connect to all of my wonderful DIS buddies!:lmao: Just Kidding!!!;) I giggled a little with the thought of the whole scenario mentioned above!:rotfl: I am sorry for disappearing off of the face of the earth and abandoning my poor Pre-Trip Report for the last week or so:guilty: …Life sort of happened! :goodvibes Last week Tyler attended a Day Camp put on by the Green Bay Packers and he had a Blast! Here are a few pics…

And I was also very busy preparing for Vacation Bible School at our church and this week is VBS, so I’ve been spending time with the other loves of my life! But I still love my DIS!

We left off when I was going to attempt to snatch up the infamous LGMH’s from Home Depot…Man, was I nervous! :scared: I haven’t stolen anything since I was 5 years old (It was a .01 tootsie roll, my mom caught me and I had to apologize to the storeowner after returning the stolen merchandise! Definitely taught me a lesson!) Anywhoo…so my DH thought the whole idea was crazy and refused to be a part of my plan …little did he know:idea:! We pulled up to Home Depot; I had my partners in crime hop out of the car with me (DD6 and DS8);) and decided to give them very little information, with the fear of them ratting me out to the salesperson:scared1: ! We casually approached the almighty coveted Mickey Head rack of paint samples! I felt like Ralphy from “A Christmas Story” eyeing up his Red Ryder BB Gun.:lmao: It was as if the lights from the heavens lead me directly to the LGMH’s…okay so it was the store spotlights, humor me:rotfl: ! We proceeded to take a few black, some white, and various other colors to be conspicuous; all the while I was sizing up the newly filled stack of Alien Green Mickey Heads! There had to be at least 50 of those bad boys hanging out on the shelf! This was it…the moment of truth! I gracefully picked up at least ¾ of the stack, eyed them up in my hands, ran my fingers over them, go to slip them in my pocket:rolleyes1 …and my DD6 shouts, “Mommy, why do you need all of those green ones…I don’t even like green paint!” AHHHHGGGG…I swiftly gathered my children (and my Paint Samples, of course!) and headed for the nearest exit where I had my DH waiting with the getaway car (hmmm…hmmm…minivan, actually):rotfl2: As we jumped in the car, I actually told him to hurry up and drive! :lmao: He does truly think I’ve lost it now! But we all had a great laugh and it was a Blast! I have a huge stack of Mickey Head Paint samples that we’ll use for decorations and such (any other ideas appreciated!) and wound up with 30 LGMH! Here's a few pictures in case anyone is wondering what they look like...
The actual LGMH in Alien Green...

I know the picture is a tad bit dark, but with the flash on, the colors don't look right...

I had really wanted to schedule a surprise Illuminations Cruise for the entire Fam, but my window of opportunity is quickly closing and I’m now thinking I’d like to save the $$$ for extra Spending $$$. Ya know, if that darn Money Tree that I planted in the backyard would start producing the way it should, none of this would be a problem!:confused3

Does anyone else have those crazy nightmares while planning your Disney Trip? I took a little catnap after VBS today and had the craziest dream…Nightmare, really! We went to Disney without a game plan…the kids were waiting in line to see Tigger and we didn’t have Autograph Books or a Retractable Sharpie!!! I was panicking…ran into a gift store and they were all out of Autograph Books and when I went back to the line my kids had disappeared…they wound up on Splash Mountain all by themselves, and what’s even nuttier, is that we weren’t even at MK…we were at MGM! At least in my made up world of Disney. Our Debit card wouldn’t work; I had forgotten my Camera and couldn’t find a CM to take pictures with a Photopass card…I must be a little stressed out, huh? :scared1: :cool2:

Well, thank you for hanging in there with me and reading, as I keep planning some Magic! See ya soon!:goodvibes

I love the paint samples story.
Can't wait to read the rest.

Your pre-trippie is delightful.

I love your paint chip story, DBF makes fun of me whenver we go to Home Depot and I "have" to investigate the Mickey Paint Chip situation. I get taunted for "stealing" and all that, but it's worth it, because there's a WDW trip coming up:)

Don't get stressed. You seem to be doing
at great job with the planning;) I hope you
decide on the surprise cruise. Did you know
that you can meet up with other families
here on the diz that actually look for another
family to do the cruise with? That way the
cost is split and you can save those $$$ for
more disney fun!!:goodvibes

Thanks for the tip!:goodvibes I'll have to look into sharing the cruise with another family!

UH-OH!

I made have found out why the last time I visited Home Depot there were very few LGMH's! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Seriously though, as I was reading your pre-trippie, I hadn't even looked to see where you were from then I got to the part about Gurnee Mills and was like hey were in the same neck of the woods. I live in SE WI also (about 10 from the IL border).

Anywho, love your pre-trippie!!!

Sounds like your family will have a wonderful time!
