Magic In Paradise: 10/8-10/15 2011. All cruisers check in here. (#2)

Well I just checked NOAA again. There is Tropical Depresion 17 out there. Looks like it is already turning north to stay far away and staying out to sea. When it comes to the porters I can't help. 9 cruises and we have never used them. We generally only have two bags plus our carry ons so we just strap them together so we each roll two bags. Easy. Also since we use DCL to get to the port bell services picks up our big bags the morning of the cruise. As far the CC rentals, you can cancel them. They have plenty you can get them while we are there if you really want. You can even bring your own snorkel stuff if you want. Well one week from now we will be celebrating the 40th birthday of WDW with dinner at Cindereallas Royal Table then a big surprise. I can't reall say more than that. Two weeks from today, lunch at Topsiders or Parot Cay depending on port arrival time. Three weeks from today Lunch at T-Rex.

I did not set an alarm. I just got home from seeing Moneyball. Let me tell you all, that was a great movie. Also I know we may have a few Dream lovers out there, but I think the Magic looks 10x better. She is just so streamlined and graceful looking.

DH & I watched that last night as well. GREAT movie!! I'm new to baseball so I didn't know the story which made it even better for me!
....and of course Brad Pitt looks mighty fine!

It really was a great movie. Being a huge Baseball fan ( I will take it over Football anyday of the week) I really enjoyed it. Billy Bean has really changed the game. Admitly sometimes not for the better.

Picture bump

The Magic at PC last year. This will be all of us in 2 weeks. :cool1::cool1:

We've booked the Rhino Rider in St Martaan...

And here's one for all the veterans on here....

If you rent snorkeling, biking or tubes on CC, do you generally just book that day? We're thinking of cancelling our snorkeling and just 'waiting to see'..Any suggestions or are we fine chancing it?:confused3

You are totally fine waiting until CC to rent snorkel stuff. That's what i did last time. Plenty of supplies available. Didn't try the biking or tubes last time around though.

OK, getting excited and panicky on budgets.

How much do you guys tip the porters for your luggage? $1-5 or $5-10?

Also, are there any restaurants in the port area that you recommend for dinner the night before? We have a party of 12 for dinner that night. Preferably near the port or on the water.

We've looked at Fishlips, Grills, and Izzy's Bistro. Has anyone eaten at one of these and did you like it?

We did $1.00 per bag last time, and plan on doing the same this time around. We'll likely have 4 bags between me and Richard to check:thumbsup2

Last time around we ate at Grills, meeting up with some of our fellow cruisers from that trip. Food was good, servings were generous and we got to watch a cruise head out to sea while we were there too:thumbsup2

Not sure if we plan on eating like that this time though. We're tossing it around. If i can get lucky and find a groupon or a certificate on restaurant.com it'll be tossed around less:lmao:

:thumbsup2 THANK YOU Maria!!! That's what I read on the boards and elsewhere too! Whew...Beth, you 'skeered' me...with all our luggage that $5-10 would have put me over.....hahaha...

hehe Sorry about that. I just have this dreaded feeling that I've budgeted all the big things, but will be nickeled and dimed over our budget.

..just checking.

Thanks for the review Maureen. I think we are leaning towards Grills as well. Eating on the deck if it is nice, with some good seafood and drinks to toast.

Just wanted to mention that anyone up around 5:00 A.M. Eastern time can watch the Magic come home.

I wish I could watch on the webcam. We will be driving on our way to Lakeland to p/u DS.

BUT, good news is: I have one suitcase packed. Case of water, resort cups, laundry needs, etc... It will be one of three carry ons. Have a very short shopping list. Still have many things left from last cruise or in our DVC box.

Getting really excited.

Me and the wife really wanna check this one out. We are both baseball fans, I'll admit the DW is a HUGE baseball fan. I've always been fascinated the Moneyball concept, so its will be in the works, maybe next weekend.

Oh Bother! PayPal just sent me a notice that I got a refund for the SeaSafe Lotion I ordered! Low Stock. I guess you all bought out the store! :rotfl:

Found another online store and placed another order. Hopefully they have it in stock.

Guilty as charged. :lmao::lmao: We got 3 bottles of Sea Safe. If you do not get some, stop on over to Family Beach after we crash a wedding :rotfl2: and you can have some.

For those with kids in the club or lab there is Friendship Rocks in the Walt Disney Theater on Thursday at 4:30pm. It is not well advertised and is right before Main dining. Is is a nice thing for the kids where the CMs get them up on the stage with characters and sing and show a slide show of the kids in the clubs over the last week. The kids will also get a t-shirt.
