Magic In Paradise: 10/8-10/15 2011. All cruisers check in here. (#2)

Now that I've spent hours reading a couple different forums I really wish I would have known all of the great information prior to booking and of course wish we would have booked a long time ago to be able to participate in all the fun and games!

We booked our 1st DCL trip about a week ago for 5 of us including our 3 children (11, 10 and 7) and since then I have been trying to read up on all the tips and suggestions available.

Sounds like we are cruising with a whole lot of fun families!!! :dance3:

Welcome aboard! My jaw dropped when I realized you guys live just 15 minutes from us! We live in Surprise :) I'm happy to know there is another AZ family going to be on board! When and with what airline do you fly to FL?

There's a lot of that going around! Bethshaya (aka Liz) and I live in neighboring towns too!

Just wanted to mention that anyone up around 5:00 A.M. Eastern time can watch the Magic come home.

You know your way too excited about something when you set your alarm at 5am on a Saturday morning to watch a webcam... But I can't freakin wait!

I did not set an alarm. I just got home from seeing Moneyball. Let me tell you all, that was a great movie. Also I know we may have a few Dream lovers out there, but I think the Magic looks 10x better. She is just so streamlined and graceful looking.

Good morning fellow cruisers.
We now have only

:welcome: How much fun is that! We're all so excited, so glad to have you aboard! And I'm cruising with 3 kids too:rolleyes1 albeit two are 23, and 24 and then there's little bit (12dd)! Lots of fun expected in two weeks!

:yay:

Well I am done tracking the latest storm. She will not be an issue for my travel plans on Wed night/Thursday morning. One week from today lunch at the Beirgaten, two weeks from today lunch at Tusker House, three weeks from today lunch at serenity bay.
Ok..Alan...Thanks for the weather updates...you are excused only because you are going to see Mickey!!! Safe travels to be sure, and leave some for the rest of us!:)
Tomorrow starts 6 days in a row, and then a 3 day weekend starting on Friday:worship: Work the following Mon and Tuesday, and then Weds is off for final madcap packing errands etc. On the road early Thursday morning.:woohoo:

OMG I can't believe I've made it this far. It has been a long and bumpy road to get here. Just a little farther and we're golden:thumbsup2

You HAVE had quite a road huh?:confused3 But your pot at the end of the rainbow is only a few days away. When your at Target this week, just pretend all those cutomers are cm's...really waiting to wait on YOU hand and foot..:rotfl: could make your day interesting to be sure! And after 6 days? Whew, you'll be running around like a chicken with your head cut off, getting through with everything...then I bet you'll have enough energy for those 2 days! Know it's gonna pass fast!;)

There's a lot of that going around! Bethshaya (aka Liz) and I live in neighboring towns too!

 No ones lives near me I'm afraid! Though honestly, given a choice, I'd live somewhere besides Memphis too!:rotfl2:

The Magic is back home :cool1::cool1::cool1:

Now THIS made my morning!:thumbsup2

A-n-d, these past few weeks have been so full and busy, we haven't come up for air:rolleyes1, so here's hoping we can enjoy these last two planning and preparing!:thumbsup2

Woohooo!!! Two weeks from now and we'll be meeting the DCL transfer bus at the Boardwalk Villas and heading for Port Canaveral!

Sooooo ready for this cruise. Can't wait to relax and enjoy myself for a week.

Now, if I can just get through these next two weeks of teaching middle school, & get this paper written For my master's class. So much to do between now & sailaway!!!!!

I look forward to meeting all of you.

So, has anyone booked any fun excursions?

Cheers,
Josh

OK, getting excited and panicky on budgets.

How much do you guys tip the porters for your luggage? $1-5 or $5-10?

Also, are there any restaurants in the port area that you recommend for dinner the night before? We have a party of 12 for dinner that night. Preferably near the port or on the water.

We've looked at Fishlips, Grills, and Izzy's Bistro. Has anyone eaten at one of these and did you like it?

We've booked the Rhino Rider in St Martaan...

And here's one for all the veterans on here....

If you rent snorkeling, biking or tubes on CC, do you generally just book that day? We're thinking of cancelling our snorkeling and just 'waiting to see'..Any suggestions or are we fine chancing it?:confused3

I believe it is customary to tip $1 to $2 per bag.

:thumbsup2 THANK YOU Maria!!! That's what I read on the boards and elsewhere too! Whew...Beth, you 'skeered' me...with all our luggage that $5-10 would have put me over.....hahaha...
