Good morning fellow cruisers.
We now have only
days to go to the Magic.

We now have only

days to go to the Magic.

We rode out back to back Frances and Jeanne in 2004 (I think) in WDW.
A day or two after we landed, we tried to get a flight out for later in the week before the storms hit and all the flights were already booked. We were stuck.
I was able to extend our stay using DVC points and we stayed at the Beach Club Villas.
Disney was terriffic! In the lobby for a few days leading up to the storm, they had a table that you could go to to make sure you had the necessities you needed; medication, baby formula, food, diapers etc. They took your order and delivered it to your room later in the afternoon.
We had one numbscull who tried to check out of the hotel and was getting mad that the limo wasn't showing up. The cast member had to ask him "Sir, where are you going to"? and the man said to the airport. The cast member had to tell him that the airport was closed as of last night. You aren't going anywhere today. He didn't know why. He had to tell him, Sir, the hurricane will be here tonight. Not sure where his head was that week, but he was on master level oblivious. Got Mr. Unaware back into his room and settled and things were back on track.
Disney proceeded to put flyers under the door every few hours and followed with voicemails as well. They moved cast members onto each floor and they gave us instructions. Belle, Goofy and Pluto had story time and a candy treasure hunt for the kids in the hallway. Breakfast, lunch and dinner was delivered to our rooms free of charge for each of the three days we were penned up. They even had an open bar in a meeting room for the adults while Belle read to the children.
I've never seen such organization. By the time the first storm was at its peak, they asked us to go into the hallway with blankets. The damage was bad in the morning, but they took good care of us.
After the two storms, we were able to get a flight out a day or two later and the damage in the rest of the town was big.
Can somebody please confirm for me what the us travel plug looks like as i am currently looking at buying a travel adaptor strip but want to make sure i am buy the correct one.
Does it have two straight prongs and one rounded?
sorry i hope that makes sense.
Thanx Mandy
is it okay to post a link to one?
Kinda slow around here today.![]()
No kidding. Everyone must be cleaning up after the quake or getting supplies for Irene. On a quake related note, I heard the Washington Monument is now leaning left, or was that to the right?
I think if you are looking from the White House it is leaning left and from Congress it is leaning to the right.
Are you staying in LA or do you have to come east? NY and NE could be a mess this weekend. That area is in no way prepared for that kind of storm. I know Delaware is not. Here's hoping that Irene stays out to sea. This is crazy. I have never been through a real earthquake or hurricane and now I might get both in one week. I think the plague of locusts is next.Whoever upset Mother Nature can you please stop.
I know this is what I am going to have. I have a connection at DCL. (sits next to the dinning specialist.)Sorry I am being slow today.I know we talked about this earlier but what was the consensus dining rotation PLA?
I saw this link posted over on the main boards of a webcam on the island across from CC. It looks like rough surf now. Tomorrow will be down right scary. Can you cat 4

I hope the people do.
I hope they are all evacuated or they're going to have a bad day tomorrow.
A really bad day. I hope the Dream too the CC workers with her yesterday.
They do have some bunkers on CC but I am sure cat 4 is too much. I hope they all jumped on the Dream today and far away from Irene.
