Magic In Paradise: 10/8-10/15 2011. All cruisers check in here. (#2)

As for CC i hope the Pelican Plunge survives, but I'm not worried about the island at all. CC is nice, but we'd be happy even if we didn't get to visit it.

Hey, I think Irene wants visit us as well in VA and DE :scared1::scared1: I guess were not in Kansas anymore Toto. :scared1:

Morning cruisers

Busy day here today. Spent the morning in court over a car accident we had over a year ago. It went like we figured, the person who sued should have taken the insurance settlement.

Now i have laundry in the wash and Rich is taking Onlsow out for a short walk, then its off to visit doggie hotel number 1. Place looks nice and has a youtube channel and the dogs look like they are having so much fun. We will see how it goes. Really had planned on keeping him home and having neighbors look after him, but with Rally gone now I'm afraid of how lonely he might be. So we'll visit 2 places and see what's best for our little guy. Soo much to think about:sad1:

That sounds like our Camp Bow Wow. They have camera's all over the place that we can see them with online. That is why we went to this doggy daycare. Our 2 labs LOVE it there and get excited every time they get in the car because they think they are going there even when they are not.:rotfl2: Onslow will have a great time I am sure and he needs the doggie company even for just a little while.

EARTHQUAKE here is Delaware?? Yep. :scared1::scared1: Hey Alan I thought this was LA for a minute. A whole lot of shaking going on. Anyone else. :Rolleyes1

That is crazy because we had one here in Colorado last night too. It was in Trinidad and was 5.3. We don't hardly ever get them. Our last big one they said was in 1967 and was 6.2. I hope that is not a sign of things to come for us all?:scared1:

Actually, it was here in VA:confused3 Over by Richmond is where the epicenter was.

It happened while i was putting clothes on the line and DIDN'T FEEL A THING:confused:

Rich was in the house with Onslow and he felt something, but didn't associate it with an earthquake until I mentioned it.

Oh my! PA felt it!!!!! I was at work on the top floor (9th fl) and we felt all this shaking!!!! :scared1: I thought the building was collapsing but many just thought it was an airplane. :confused3 Thank goodness we don't live in California. :worship: Hope everyone else is okay.

A friend sent me a text saying she was in her first earthquake, she lives in Nashua but is in Baltimore for a work meeting, yes she too works for SWA. I was thinking it was like a 4 or something, not a big deal from someone in CA, but 5.9, that can get really scary. To all those in the path of the Hurricane, stay safe. I am part of our disaster relief team at work, and just got put on stand by to go somewhere (they did not tell me where) from tomorrow till the 30th. So we shall see.

Good luck if they send you somewhere. last time i checked Jim Cantore was still in the studio, that's NOT good. I think it means they don't know where to send him cause of too many possibilities:lmao:

I was supposed to have a meeting to go to tomorrow night, but I got a new email asking everyone if the date is still fine considering the weather. As far as I know nothing is forecast to hit until the weekend, so i aint rushing out to home depot.

I wonder if you will get to go to FL and just hang out and wait for us to get there?:rotfl:

We have lived here in CO for almost 5 years and it amazes me how anytime they call for a little snow that the stores are packed with people hoarding food and water like they wouldn't get out for months. :lmao: I lived in TX for 30 years and we had tornadoes there all the time and we never hoarded. It was like any other day. We had our share of hurricanes too. Of course I also keep enough canned food in the house all the time so we can eat for a couple weeks if we really had to.:rotfl:

They said if I go anywhere it will only be till the 30th. Also based in NOAA tracking, I seriously doubt I will go to FL

nope. almost definitely not FL, OBX may be a big possibility for you though. Although its not really supposed to hit anywhere around here until 27th-28th earliest, I fail to see the point of sending you anywhere for just 2 days for a hurricane response:confused3 If it bounces and hits NE area then you are looking 29-30th landing date for up there.

As I understand it the point of this is to provide very temp. relief so the people who work at the affected stations can tend to their homes and families.

I hope you are not planning to go to Rehobeth this weekend. Irene is currently on a path to this area. Considering how much the path keeps changing I am like we'll see.

Yeah, I'm coming up. Its the same forecast whether I stay at home or not. I can be miserable at home in the rain, or i can be at Rehoboth a little bit happier. Its been a bad month and we, all 3 of us, need this weekend. Might drive up Thursday night instead of Friday morning as we'd originally planned, but other than that all systems are go.

Well good luck and safe travels if they send you out :thumbsup2

At this point, I just checked our Huricane tracking at work, it looks like at the worst Tropical Storm force winds and rain at WDW. CC, that's a whole other thing. I hope DCL gets the people who live there out and fast.

Me Too Alan!:thumbsup2 Been keeping an eye out on that condition...Hope they get them out today ASAP. Don't know how all that works, but gives me a shiver when I see that headed for them ! I hate that it affects cruisers, but hate worse the harm it could do to those folks who live in those areas and are having to flee...Hoping and praying for those folks in the path of Irene!
