Magic In Paradise: 10/8-10/15 2011. All cruisers check in here. (#2)

You didn't miss a thing Alan!! That's what I've been saying. Instead of getting a letter on Wed, they are giving it to you up front. The amounts are exactly the same. I really don't understand what the big deal is. A rose by any other name...you know. I've been on Holland America and NCL and they do the exact same thing...automatically charge your cabin the "suggested" amounts but you ALWAYS have the option of adjusting up or down accordingly. I just don't see a problem here. People need to relax and just enjoy their vacation. The bottom line is it's NOT costing anyone anything more than what has ALWAYS been on the website as far as tips!

This is why I am not getting my underwear all in a bunch about this. If you still feel you got bad service then they will remove the tips and it is not costing anymore today as it did yesterday. I will just be blunt, I think people need to just get over it and realize it is not a big deal in the big picture.

:thumbsup2 I agree!

It doesn't bother me at all either. Mostly i posted the letter so we'd all know it was going to be there on Sat. I don't mind stopping at GS if i want to adjust tips.

That is awesome Lisa, thanks a bunch!!:cool1: I love that there are so many in 3D showing. I plan on spending lots of time in the theater.

Awww...no Lion King though:sad2:

Would have made a point to see that. Have no idea if we'll get to the theater to see any of these. Will just see when we're on board what we want to do.

Agreed. I do not care either. I'll make changes if I feel necessary which most likely will happen as I will add to the amount. I hope this change does not end up hurting the CM's. I can see how people will just pay the recommended and nothing extra since that now takes extra effort.

:offtopic:

I have to say that I really do enjoy the DIS, but sometimes I get kinda bummed out reading some posts. The thread about no "magic" on the Magic . . . I have to stop reading! I always have such a great time on the Disney ships, even when others are knocking everything. I know she will be beautiful, and I will have a great time! Just wanted to get that off my chest.

:sad2: Unfortunately, this is what I think IS going to happen. We knew on the front end (having cruised RCCL) what to budget for tips, made our own thank you's ahead of time, have extra pixiedust: for them, and even though it will go ahead and come out of our room account, we'll still do 'our thing'. It's better to give than to receive, and we always know these folks primarily are gone for 9 months from friends and family, and 'any little ole thing' would probably bless them! We loved, loved, loved our room steward on the RCCL's NOSeas...(although he was probably the ONLY thing we loved about the cruise), so we're excited to see this 'go around' who we get to meet and befriend!

And that being said.....After today, Only 5 more days until we're on that plane:woohoo:

:thumbsup2I'm with ya on that one...started reading that thread and then quit after page one. Just not gonna do it....

Agreed :thumbsup2 It seems that the negative comments come quick yet the positive comments are fewer since these people are satisfied. I was on the 10/16/10 cruise last year which was right after the Magic's drydock. A few people did have issues but overall it would seem that it was the cruise from hell from all the posts. We had a great cruise and had a great time. The CMs were wonderful and made it a fun time. The negative posters in my opinion were way overblown in their comments. All I know is this Magic in Paradise cruise is going to great and all of us are going to have a great time. :cool1::cool1:

I've always had a great time on the Magic. By far the best cruise line I have been on. I guess there will always be people who complain about everything. I'm going to have a great time and enjoy every minute!

Well another day of WDW fun is now over. It was kick back time in the day. Meet some friends over at Food and Wine. Had to take the oblatory ride on Spaceship Earth. Headed back to the resort had dinner at Boma then Extra Hours at the Studio. We saw Muppet Vission right before the extra hours started. Then to the Tower, Rockin Roller Coaster, back to the Tower, then back to the Tower again, then back to Rockin Roller Coaster, then to end the night we rode Toy Story Midway Maina. On tap for tomorrow is lunch at Tepan Edo, some Food and Wine, then Magic Kingdom for extra hours that end at 1A.M.

Good morning fellow cruisers.

Wonder if it rains on a planned excursion (ie: like out on a rhino rider) what they do...I do NOT want to be on a little airblown boat in a storm!:confused3

Bermuda is very far north of were we will be sailing. On Sunday we will be a lot closer to Nassau than anything, so thats what I would use for the weather.
