Magic In Paradise: 10/8-10/15 2011. All cruisers check in here. (#2)

Just catching up after the weekend! We have 25 days until our vacation starts at MCO!:cool1: BTW, I FINALLY got our cruise docs.. Hurray! I love Disney mail. I feel a little wierd about leaving our luggage in the room at MCO:eek: but I will feel so much better once I see it on the ship in our wonderful room on Disdeck 6....

I also do not like leaving my luggage for the Hyatt to pick up. I take my luggage with me down to the transportation checkin area in the basement of the airport where there is a bin with luggage going to the port. It make me feel better that I know DCL has it and it is grouped with other luggage destined for the ship. One less hand off makes for one less chance of my luggage not making it. Considering we start with 2 sea days the first chance your luggage could catch up with you is in St Maarten. :scared1:

I didn't know you could do that? That would be so much better. Do they tell you how to get down there or have directions somewhere? Are you checking in for the DCL bus at the Hyatt or at the Magical Express area then? sorry, this is first time for me doing this.:confused3

I do not checkin through the Hyatt. I go down on the "B" side to the transportation area about 2 levels down. The DCL desk is next to the Magical Express desk so just follow the signs. It is way down on the end. I do this because I like to get the first bus out and these busses are first out before the Hyatt guests.

Oh, so you just give your bags to the DCL people then? That makes sense. We always us ME for WDW and I knew DCL was there too. We plan on going down right after 8:00am to check in and try to get the earliest bus out. Is that early enough? I figured it would be if the port doesn't open until 11 now.

Yes I just give my bags to DCL there. There is a large luggage bin outside where the busses are. There are attendents there and I just hande them over and next see them on the Magic. I am not sure when the DCL desk opens now. 8am sounds early since I would think the first bus does not leave until after 10am with the new 11am port open time. I am going to go down to the DCL/ME desk on Friday night and ask when they open.

Well I guess that is what I will do too. We will be there a few hours earlier than you so if you want I can just let you know when they open.:thumbsup2 That is if we actually show up on time and are not late.

Just because I want to be there. The Magic at CC.

I how I wish I was sharing the Magic right now.:cloud9:

Has anyone ever gone to the Spa on embarkation day to sign up for their drawing? I was wondering if we have to actually be there to win a prize?:confused3 I would like to do that but I think the drawing is at 3:15? I plan on being in our Dismeet at that time which is much more important to me. :cool1:
I have luck on winning stuff with Disney and I hope it holds out on our cruise. We won a prize during the Year of a Million Dreams in 2008 at WDW. My DH was the first person down the slide at Typhoon Lagoon and the dream patrol came up to him and told him he won something. I hate slides so I was waiting for him at the tube ride. He came up with the prize patrol and said we won something but wouldn't tell us what. I thought we had won the fast pass for the day or something. They made us walk up to the front and right next to the big wave pool is all the lounge chairs but on the right is a huge cabana. They said we won the big prize of the day and it was all ours for the whole day!:scared1: What? Awesome!! We had 2 lounge chairs, 2 reg chairs, 4 towels, 1 table with a beautiful vase of flowers, 2 towel animals, a cooler with 12 bottles of soda and water, our own private VIP hostess who got us Mickey bars plus we had bought a locker for our stuff and got our money back and kept our stuff right their in our cabana. We were there for our anniversary so it was a great surprise.:woohoo::woohoo: We were the envy of everyone around us who asked us how we got it and we told them we won! :yay:We even had the photopass guy at the wave pool come over and he took lots of pics for us. We got to keep everything and take it all with us. We ate our lunch there too. What a wonderful best Disney day ever!!

Hey Alan! I just saw on one of the other sites that per Disney World's twitter account, they said that anyone at Magic Kingdom on Oct 1st should expect some "special surprises"! :worship: Good luck to you on getting something great!

I saw that as well. It made me raise a eyebrow. I guess in about 2 1/2 weeks we will know. I know one suprise but I can't talk about till around 9:30-10:00 P.M. Eastern time on the 1st.

"Ophelia" is building off the coast of Africa and will be the one to watch. It is a TD right now, so not officially names. But she will pick up speed eventually and we'll have to keep our eye on her.

Now that's just mean! You're such a tease  How is it that you know things that we can't learn about for awhile?

Nothing on NOAA as of yet. When it hits NOAA I will start tracking.

I have a feeling that one of the things will be the next coming year's theme for celebrations. It will probably have to do with birthdays of some kind since this is their 40th.:confused3

Well all I can say it is a very special thing. I need to be coy right now. I can't even say if it is Disney related.

I’ve not looked on here for such a long time; you guys have been up to allsorts since I last looked - games, t-shirts, fish extenders..... I’ve missed so much.

We are starting to get really excited now and a wee bit nervous as we’ve never been on a cruise before.

We have also upgraded from cat 10 to cat 5b so that is exciting too.:yay:

I better get back to reading through and catching up on all the posts LOL.:surfweb:
