Hello -

I had read a bit ago on the DIS that many cruise meets will create a Facebook group that is open only to the people on the cruise. It said that it is a great way for the fellow cruisers to get to know each other more.

I created a group (Disney Magic - June 2, 2012) if anyone is on Facebook and would like to join - please do.

Kristi

Is it a closed group? Im searhing but cant find it

Hi all,

We've just booked our first family Disney Cruise, and it's this one!

It'll be me Stephen, Rachael my better half and our son Noah who will be a toddling 19 months next June! He already loves Mickey so his head may explode with excitement when he realises he's going to see him :)

We're heading to NYC all the way from the Isle of Man in the UK,

Roll on 2nd June 2012!

Stephen, Rachael & Noah

:welcome: aboard Stephen, Rachael and Noah!!

Your son is going to have so much fun! We are taking my granddaughter on the Magic in October and she will be 23 months during that cruise. We took her to Disney World last year for her 1st birthday and she had a great time. She loved all the characters and was smiling and clapping her hands the whole time.

Please refer to Post #3 for information on joining the FE and also information about our Group Page on Facebook. Here is the direct link:

Thanks everyone - we're so excited! looking forward to sharing the build-up on here.

Some extra info for the sheet - we're room 7122 (Cat 07A) and we're on the Main sitting

Oh, and we'd like to join in the FE too if that's ok? (just reading up on it as first-timers!)

Thanks all!

Boy, things sure are quiet on this thread. My October Cruise thread has been busy chatting up a "storm." The latest is hurricane Irene which looks like is headed right for CC. I sure hope Pelican Plunge and Cabana 3 survive this storm!! :scared1:

Here's hoping everyone on the ships this week have a safe trip.

Maria - My son Matt was talking about the storm and CC this morning and hoping that they will be able to get it put back together by June.

Hope Irene doesn't do too much trouble.

No one has ever accused me of being quiet before! :rotfl2:

Anyway, I have been watching Irene news and hoping it doesn't do much damage, or more importantly, hurt anyone. I feel bad for anyone sailing that may be affected. You save and plan and get so excited only to have the whole thing possibly change or get cancelled. I guess that's the chance you take when sailing this time of year. We sailed in August on our first cruise 10 years ago and I knew nothing about hurricane season! I planned the whole thing in less than 2 months and had no idea what was going on! Big DUH moment but we were lucky-- no bad weather!

Anyone feel the Earthquake today? Apparently, it was felt in downtown Cleveland, but I didn't feel anything living east of there. My DH said people in his office felt it but he didn't! Don't ask. :rotfl:

I felt it in Twinsburg. I was at our library for a blood donation and I felt it very lightly. The guy that was sitting next to me felt it also.

I was in the car on I-95 on my way to Costco when my DH called and said, "HEY!!! DID YOU JUST FEEL THAT!!" I said, "Feel what? What are you talking about?" He informed me that we just had an earthquake and he felt his desk shaking at work and the windows rattling and the plants in the office were shaking. He works about an hour northeast of home. So go figure. He felt it. I didn't feel a thing. But I suppose the roar of 18 wheelers passing me on I-95 would diminish the effect of what we would actually feel of an earthquake with an epicenter in VA.

I felt the earthquake in NYC! It was very strange...everything shook for about 10 seconds. And now we are preparing for Hurricane Irene to visit us this Sunday. What a nutty week!

I haven't had time to even think about the cruise - but I know that will change once school gets started and the weeks get closer. The biggest concern for me right now is getting some payments made on it!

Welcome back from your trip! How was it? I hope you had fun and learned a bunch! You leave and come back and look what happens!--all these natural disasters! Just kidding!!

Brook and Maria are you preparing for Irene? Please stay safe!

We had a tornado hit near here last night! It was an F1 and hit basically 20 minutes down the road from where I live! It collapsed the roof of the Giant Eagle supermarket that I sometimes shop at! :scared1: Did you hear about that Kristi?

Yeah, payments! Forgot all about that "little" aspect! :lmao: Too busy worrying about our FE, pirate shirts, Mickey tie dye shirts, what hotel to stay at the night before... you know, all the more important things! :thumbsup2

I did read about the tornado. I was awake at 1:00 looking at my phone to make sure there were no tornado warnings (there was a watch). The radar was very nasty.

Haven't really done anything to prepare. I'll probably head out to the store tomorrow to purchase things like milk, and bread, since we are running low on that. We have a generator so I'm sure my DH will go out and buy gasoline since we will most likely lose power. Other than that, not sure what else we can do. Just pray that the giant tree in the middle of our driveway doesn't come down on the house I suppose.
