Welcome to my new trip report! I'm so glad to have everyone here.
I just got back yesterday.
Disney's slogan is The Happiest place On Earth and the Place where dreams come true. I agree with both of those 110% and this trip proved them both to be right. This was my first trip as a DISer so I def. appreciated all the little Disney details a little more this time around.
This trip I took exactly 1,648 pictures.
The title says it all this trip was magical and of course there was drama but not too bad. It was also great to see all the Christmas decorations. There is nothing like Disney at Christmas time.
With out further ado here are the introductions:
Me- Hi, I'm Barbara
DSC00586.jpg

I am the loving wife and mother to my loving family. I used to be an art teacher but I got laid off in May so now I'm a SaHM to my two girls. I love planning Disney trips. I believe the planning is half the fun. I enjoy writing and photography so, put the two together and I love writing trip reports. My favorite ride is all the Disney classics and my favorite character is Donald Duck.:donald:
Next we have the children:
Amy- Amy just turned 11. She is small but mighty. Amy plays softball on the same rec. team as her sister, loves dance, and just started playing the clarinet in her school band. Her favorite rides are all 3 mountains, sum of all thrills, and TSM. Her favorite characters are the fairies; Tink to be exact. Did she get to see them this trip?
DSC00443.jpg

Emily- Emily turned 14 just a few days before the trip and we celebrated her birthday on the trip. Emily acts like she is 5 while at Disney. Her eyes light up when ever she sees a character and she always wants to take home every stuffed animal she sees. Emily plays softball on a rec team and does travel. She also has been playing the flute in her school band for a few years now. Oh yea, and she LOVES Disney. Sometimes I wonder if she loves Disney more than I do. Her favorite ride is TSM and she loves all the characters the same.

Last but not least we have the hubby,Mitch. Mitch works for a publishing company and travels on business trips about every month- month in a half.
Mitch tolerates my love for Disney. But he is usually the one to surprise me with booking the trips. His favorite rides are SM, Soarin', and TT. His favorite character is Figment. Mitch is the best husband you could ever ask for and he is always doing things for his girls.

When: November 21st-26th
Where- The double tree across the street from DTD. We were supposed to stay at the Dolphin but about a week before the trip Mitch switched us to a 2 bedroom at the DT because he needed more room. Out of 15 trips this was my second at a non-Disney hotel and my last.
Why- Our season passes were about to expire. We needed a Disney fix. And to see the christmas decorations. Do I need anymore reasons?
Coming up next the journey

The night before I was so excited I didn't fall asleep until 12. I woke up at around 7ish and then went back to sleep and didn't wake up until 8:30.:scared1: The goal was to be out the door by 9 but that didn't happen. Instead we got out the road at 11. We live In S. Florida so Disney is only about a 3 hour drive.

The drive down was pretty un-eventful nothing to write a book about.
After about an hour and a half we had to stop here
DSC00419.jpg

Emily had to go to the bathroom and we were all hungry.

The only time I have seen EOS was at DTD so, I thought it was pretty funny seeing it here.
I was glad I packed lunch because that place was expensive. They wanted 4.50$ for a slice of pizza.:scared1:
We hurried up and ate so we could get back on the road to my happy place.
Some Florida postcards

Before we left I stopped at the bathroom when I came out the girls both had a donut in hand.
About an hour and a half later we saw this

Thank you! To me it's not close enough. I would like to live in one of those neighborhoods 5 minutes away. We used to live in Orlando about 35 minutes away. Then we moved here 7 years ago.

Thank you! It's a great time to go. If you could go the week after thanksgiving then that's even better because then the thanksgiving crowd is gone.

We checked in and went up to our room. As soon as I stepped out of the elevator this was what I saw
DSC00445.jpg

I was hoping we would be on the even number side because they had the DTD view the odds had a view if out side Disney.
Of course we got the odd.

I have a friend who stayed at the Coronado in August and had bed bugs in her room and brought it home with her. She said if you think lice is bad you never had bed bugs. She said before you put anything on the bed check.
So, I took her advice and went to go pull up the blanket as soon as I pull it off. Boom. Right there I see one. I thought for sure we wouldn't get it. I told everyone to get their stuff out. (It was our room) and we all got out and I called the front desk. 5 minutes later the manager comes up. He took us to a different room and we both checked. Thank goodness we didn't have any. The bellhop came back for our bags and brought them to our new room. Thank goodness I found it because if we brought it home then...
My friend spent 1000$ getting rid of it. Believe it or not but they went the same weekend as us and stayed at Coronado again. Since I checked in and walked out of the first room I had a bug bite by my hand. :scared1: The manager said he couldn't tell me what to put on it. I almost went to the walk in doctor but didn't. In the end all was well. We were given 4 vouchers for the b-fast buffet down stairs. We unloaded our things.
