Magic in a Winter Wonder World with 1,648 pictures

Hello everyone,
Hope you all had a good day.
Today was the usual; running around.
Tonight's Chanukkah activity was putting together a christmas village that I got on clearance at Michael's last year. The kids got wii sports resort, mommy got Disney jammies;), and mitch got a grumpty shirt; perfect for him.
Tomorrow night is the town parade. Emily will be in it.
In trip news, I NEED a pin code. I heard a good way to get them is to save a trip with out booking. I want to stay at one of the lodges and a 40% code will seal the package just nicely.

Hello! I followed your link on my TR and just caught up. I'm jealous you live so close. We are near Chicago and the weather is COLD!!! We are expecting snow tonight. My family can now not officially complain about my picture and video taping. You put me to shame.

We got a 40% off discount code in our room if we booked our trip before we left. It saved us about $2,000 between this year and next. This was our treat this year with free dining so we did not take the room discount. Hopefully we will be lucky on the room again. We loved our location right next to the volcano pool. We have stayed at the Poly, GF, WL, CSR and CBR if you ever have any questions.

Hi! Just checking in!!! Hope you are doing well. :goodvibes
Hi Mel,
Thanks for checking in on me.:goodvibes
I'm here, I've just been really busy.
We all are doing well.

Hi,
:welcome:
Thanks for coming over. I grew up in NJ and NY and so did DH so I know how that weather is. I always told myself I would move to Florida as soon as I could. We started out in Orlando but moved here 7 years ago. If the kids didn't watch t.v then they would never know what snow was and that it actually falls. :lmao:
Thanks for the compliment on the my pictures. My aunt is a professional photographer so she taught me a few things.:goodvibes
What a good deal on your trip!!
That's a nice list of resorts you checked off your list. I think I would rather do connecting rooms at a value then a mod. We spend no time at the resort. We only stay deluxe during the summer when we can enjoy the pool and the parks are open late. So, that we can hang at the resort during the hot hours and go to parks in the morning and at night.
If we do stay at a mod however, I think it will be CBR. I'll let you know if I have any questions.

Hello everyone,
My mom and grandmother just left a few minutes ago. We exchanged presents , and had dinner and played dredyl.
Today was the last day of school for the girls.

Once the parade started I walked along with the band videotaping them. The band teacher wanted me to because he is submitting the video to Disney.:banana: So, that the band could play there next year. I will be chaperoning that.:cool2:

What a great excuse to go to Disney World! I always enjoy seeing the high school bands play. I feel so proud for them to be able to show off their talents on Main Street, and I like hearing the support they get from family and friends as they go by.

Hello! Barbara
sounds like you and your family is having a wonderful holiday season.... happy you were able to spend time with your mom and grandmom...great updates and wonderful pictures BTW! We had seen push in 2001 in AK he was following me the kids thought it was a hoot and than we saw the guy sitting off in the corner. Your next trip will be starting when ours is finishing up! I like the idea of renting points (but, I'm too leary to do it) will have to think about it...it would be nice to do a step up! The pin I just received is up to June...so, I am hoping that when the time comes I'll get one for Nov/Dec that would be awesome!

Going with the band sounds like a lot of fun!!!!

Have a great weekend!

Thanks Memom. It would be the middle school. Emily is graduating this year so she wouldn't get to go. However, the high school we are zoned for just won the state competition for their marching band and they were asked to play at the superbowl.

Hi Connie,
We're having a great time. I just love this time of year.
I didn't know push left Tomorrowland.:confused3
Maybe we could meet up. We'll either go the first thursday or Friday of December and stay until I think Tuesday. That way the girls will only miss 2 and a half days of school. They missed three for this trip. I need to find a good DISER to rent from. I don't want anybody to just take the money and not give me the points. If I do rent points I decided on AKL.:cloud9: Also, Disney is releasing the giftcard deal. My birthday is in the end of July and it would be cool to go then. Even if we don't go to a park. Disney is only a 3 hour drive so we could stay a few nights. Or maybe get never expiring tickets and use them in December too. Still a lot to decide.
I hope you get a november pin.
I hope the band can go. That would be a once in a lifetime experience.
Have a good weekend.

Hello everybody,
I went to bed with it being 80 outside and woke up with it being 60. It's gorgeous outside. What a great day to be at Disney!
I'm getting off now to decide what to do on this gorgeous day with Mitch. Our cousins arrived to Florida yesterday. So, we're going to call them. I'm thinking either Santa's enchanted forest (amusement park for the holidays) or Butterfly world. (yes, the one Kate dragged the girls to florida for)
Have a good day everyone.:flower3:

After BTM Eilene and her possy wanted to go to Tom Sawyer Island. We hadn't done that in oh so long. (I think 10 years) So, we all decided that now was a nice time to go.
When we were waiting in line the men decided to be men and get everyone a soda. Getting soda took 25 minutes. Apparently, there is only soda in fantasyland so they went all the way over there to get it. :confused3
2 girls patiently waiting

When they came back this was approaching
DSC00838.jpg

So, transportation to the island had been interrupted for a few minutes.
When we got there the kids walked around and played hide and seek in a cave. Taryan was a little good at it and we were ALL looking for her for 10 minutes.
The kids were having a blast, except for one. After a few minutes Emily went to go sit down on a bench I came over to her and she was pale, ghost pale. She went to the bathroom and was in there for 10 minutes. She told me her symptoms and I knew it was a stomach bug. Then she started crying and said she wanted to go back. I gathered up the crew and then it started raining- not hard but not just 2 drops either. The transportation stopped again because the P and the F boat had to cross by.
Finally we were stuffed like sardines into our boat.
When we got back to the Kingdom we realized the wait for Splash was only 10 minutes. Everyone rode but Emily didn't want to; and that's her favorite ride. I asked her if she was o.k and she said she had to go the bathroom again. This time she was in their for 15 minutes. When she came out I asked her if she wanted to go back to the hotel.
Her answer?
"NO WAY!"
We went into one of the giftshops and I let her pick something out she decided on a pin. Her color on her face returned and I was relieved. She also sounded better and didn't have to go to the bathroom for the rest of the night. It was probably just a short little stomach bug and she was only sick for about 3 hours.
Everyone else was taking a long time it had been 25 minutes and they still hadn't returned. And oh, I was holding all the phones. :headache:
Finally, after 40 minutes since they got in the so called 10 minute line they returned.
We all hopped on a train.
Our destination you ask?

Our real destination was here
DSC00842.jpg

Th gang still had SM FPS to use so we all went to see if the ride was up and working again. It was and it had a 230 minute wait.:scared1:
Honestly, who wants to wait 2 hours and 20 minutes for that. Everyone rode except Emily and me. Now that I think about it I think maybe SM made Emily sick Mitch said it scared the crap out of her.
Emily and I had some friends to sing with so we headed her

After PHM we went to HM we got past the stretching room and then the board-your-doom-boogie room was packed not everyone fit in. The ride was having issues and wasn't working but the doom buggies kept on coming.:confused3
I did however, learn that there are 2 stretching rooms.
After about 15 minutes of waiting Eilene called so we left. They were leaving for the drive home in a few minutes.
I said that we had to meet in front of the castle first for pictures

You had me scared there for a moment talking about Emily getting sick. Glad it didn't last long! I just LOVE the group shots in front of the castle! WOW!!!

Glad poor Emily didn't have to miss out on too much. And good thing it was a quick bug! Poor baby - it could have ruined her whole evening.

Hello!

I am subscribed in and caught up! Love all the pictures--I will be one of those who come home with a TON of pictures too. :goodvibes I am planning on getting a couple larger memory cards--missed the sells over Thanksgiving but hopefully will find the on sale again.

I am glad Emily was only sick for just a bit--it is not fun being sick in Disney! DH and I on our first trip had a horrible time with allergies midway through which caused us to miss Illuminations and such.

Looking forward to the next post. popcorn::

After we said our goodbyes we walked past here
DSC00857.jpg

and went on the jungle cruise. The stand-by line was half an hour so we got in it. After waiting for about 5 minutes I said to myself "Oh yea, we have FPs from earlier to use."
Blond moment right there. So, we got of that line and got into the FP line.
I do want to work on the JC but I don't want to eat this

She had me scared too!!
Thanks, I wasn't going to let them leave with out it.;)
Glad poor Emily didn't have to miss out on too much. And good thing it was a quick bug! Poor baby - it could have ruined her whole evening.
I could tell she wasn't 1000% back to herself but she wasn't going to let that ruin her Disney fun.

Hello,
:welcome:
Thanks so much for coming over.
You are going to have such a great trip. I had a 2 GB memory card and I was afraid I would run out but I came home with 800 pictures left and I took about 1700 pictures and about 20 minutes worth of video.
I broke my toe once at Niagara falls in the hotel on our first day after I planned the trip for a year one time.
I just posted an update and I'm uploading day 2's pictures right now.:goodvibes

I had wanted to make rope drop at Epcot but that was not happening. We didn't have dinner at MK and so when we got back to the hotel I stayed in the room with Emily so she could go to sleep and Amy and Mitch went down stairs for dinner and brought me something up. The lights weren't out until 12:30.:scared1:
The alarm went off at 7 and to make ropedrop at our hotel we needed to be at the bus stop by 5 to 8. Everyone took their sweet old time and Mitch declared that we were going downstairs to the breakfast buffet.
Um, no sorry honey.
To refresh your memory when we checked in and I found the bed bugs we were given vouchers for the breakfast buffet downstairs. I wanted to use them our last morning when we had no park to get to early.
I remembered that I was on vacation and we still have 2 more days to make rope drop so I relaxed.

The kids were being mean to this poor bird. The bird kept flying up to their window and they brought food up to the window and to the bird it looked like the food was right in front of him. They also took a picture of the bird and it showed it to him it kept flying into the window. It repeated this many times.:sad2:
Finally it learned its lesson and found a new place to hang out.
DSC00872.jpg

At 8:45 we finally walked out the door......:woohoo:
And went down to breakfast:sad1:
The selection was small and it tasted like my mother's cooking. And her food has no taste

Want to hear another reason why I'm done with offsite?
2 parks share one bus. Next trip, we are staying at AKL we can rent points and stay their for 90$ a night. We decided on December but we might just rent points at the BW sometime this summer. If we go during the summer we won't go to a themeparks just waterparks, resorts, and DTD
We made a stop at DHS
