Magic - February 22, 2015

I'd like to do fish extenders this time around. Looks like a lot of fun! Do we have a sign up yet?

As promised I will give my opinion on Falmouth. First let me say...I have enjoyed every port we have visited and feel if we want things to be like home...stay home. That said, we did the Chukka Horse and Carriage tour of Historical Falmouth. It was an interesting tour but I was shocked at the living conditions in Falmouth. I've seen alleys in Chicago that are nicer and cleaner than the streets of Falmouth. The hospital looked like a slum building. Wild goats, dogs and chickens added to the unsanitary conditions. People are living in plywood shacks, no doors or windows and we saw a few places where people live under a tarp attached to trees. None of the tourism dollars are getting to these people.
The fenced port area is lovely and clean and inviting. And most of all, safe. We will be returning to Falmouth on this cruise and will be staying in the fenced in/safe/clean area.
This is my opinion, so please, no flames.

The changes to the Magic are wonderful. They are major enough to notice but personal enough to keep it classic. We only did a 4 night last Feb and looking forward to the 7 night western. we have not been to any of the island ports so a lot to look forward to. My son who will be 20 when we cruise is looking forward to meeting some new friends he always does and still enjoys communicating with them over Facebook.:cool2:

Did they make any changes to the Quiet Cove pool? I've seen pictures but not of the pool.

Just moved our dummy date from our first cruise on the dream in may to here!! We are excited to be trying out a different ship for our second. It is just my DH and I and we definitely want to participate in the FE this time around!!

Sorry it took so long to reply Judy but no changes to quiet cove. They did most of the changes to the main lobby and restaurants. The Aqua Dunk was great and is in my opinion the best addition to the ship.:rolleyes1

That's good. Can't wait for the AquaDunk. Thanks.

Hello all we are booked to sail on this cruise with all of you. It will be me, DH, DS 9 at time of sailing and our DD 8 at time of sailing. We are sailing with my BFF and her family. In our eyes they are pros at this as it will be their 3rd cruise.

We are interested in doing the fish extenders with everyone else on board.

We had the same opinion of St. Maarten when we did the around town tour.

Just cancelled NYE Fantasy to join this cruise. Looking forward to running the Princess Half and putting the feet up and enjoying this cruise. Looks like South Western Ontario will be well represented on this cruise.

Hi everyone! This is our 4th cruise and we're bringing the whole family (from Orangeville, Acton, Flesherton and Calgary Canada). I have never done the "fish extender" thing, but am thinking of trying it. Is there a group for this? Has anyone stopped in Falmouth before? That's the only port I haven't been to and am a little concerned about it...thoughts? Thanks and see you all soon!
Flesherton - I have fond memories of the nickel and dime store and the bakery from my childhood. My grandfather had a cottage on a stream leading into Eugenia Lake. We did a lot of snowmobiling in the area, swimming races in the Flesherton pond, and turkey shots somewhere up there. That was a number of years ago. Okay 40 - 50 years ago. I am sure things have changed.

Welcome to all the new cruisers. We need more activity on this site. Which shore excursions are people thinking about? Since we just visited these ports last month on the Fantasy, as of now, we are not planning any. We will get off the ship in Grand Cayman and Falmouth and stay on the ship in Cozumel. In Grand Cayman we did the Adult Departure Island Tour. In Falmouth we took the Chuka Horse and Buggy Tour of Historical Jamaica. At all three ports we ate lunch at Margaritaville.

I may have posted this somewhere on here at some point but...We are a family of 3... My FB name is Kimberly Herring Hartshorn(Tinkerbell) my mom's FB name is Linda Gunn(Minnie) and my daughter who will be 9 at time of sailing is Kaylin(Snow White) Stateroom # is 6578. No allergies and this will be our 3rd DCL but first time on the Magic(2x on Fantasy). Can't wait!! Super excited to be a part of the FE again!!

Our family will be on this cruise & can't wait...

It will be my husband, me, my son (15), daughter (13), daughter (9).

We've been on the Dream and Wonder & can't wait for this cruise. We debated between The Fantasy and The Magic.. decided on The Magic because we loved the smaller size of the Wonder.

Hi all! Our family will be doing our 3rd cruise, 2nd on Magic. Can't wait! It's me, DH, DD, and 2DSs. I'll pm my info for FEs and just requested access to the fb group. Love the idea of limiting fe to 20 cabins, it gets so crazy otherwise! Can't wait to meet all of you!

My DH and myself are planning on doing the cooking class Mexican Cuisine and Tasting on Cozumel. We did a walking foodie tour on another cruise so we are stepping up to a cooking class this time. For Jamaica we are torn between the plantation tour or Dunn Falls. Grand Cayman not sure yet. Maybe snorkeling or something. Any suggestions?

Look forward to meeting everyone!!

Hello!! I just subscribed to this thread and requested to join the FB group. My hubby, our 15 year old son, and I will be on this cruise and are so excited to finally be cruising on the reimagined Magic! We have been on all 4 ships (the Dream is my favorite), but haven't been on the Magic since the remodel! We also have an 18 year old son, but he won't be joining us this trip since he will be starting his freshman year of college.

This will be our 7th Disney cruise. We are absolutely addicted.

We are planning to do the Dunns River Falls in Jamaica and probably one of the Dune Buggy/snorkeling excurstions in Cozumel. We'll probably stay on the ship in Grand Cayman since we've been there twice before and don't care for tendering in.

Anyway, I'm glad I found this thread. It makes me a little more excited. Less than 7 months to go! The last time we cruised was on the Fantasy in March 2013. :)

Also booked for this cruise. I'm excited only 202 more days....not like anyone is counting :)

My kids, 2 boys (7 & 11), 1 girl 9 are excited to make new friends on this cruise.
