The changes to the Magic are wonderful. They are major enough to notice but personal enough to keep it classic. We only did a 4 night last Feb and looking forward to the 7 night western. we have not been to any of the island ports so a lot to look forward to. My son who will be 20 when we cruise is looking forward to meeting some new friends he always does and still enjoys communicating with them over Facebook.![]()
Sorry it took so long to reply Judy but no changes to quiet cove. They did most of the changes to the main lobby and restaurants. The Aqua Dunk was great and is in my opinion the best addition to the ship.![]()
As promised I will give my opinion on Falmouth. First let me say...I have enjoyed every port we have visited and feel if we want things to be like home...stay home. That said, we did the Chukka Horse and Carriage tour of Historical Falmouth. It was an interesting tour but I was shocked at the living conditions in Falmouth. I've seen alleys in Chicago that are nicer and cleaner than the streets of Falmouth. The hospital looked like a slum building. Wild goats, dogs and chickens added to the unsanitary conditions. People are living in plywood shacks, no doors or windows and we saw a few places where people live under a tarp attached to trees. None of the tourism dollars are getting to these people.
The fenced port area is lovely and clean and inviting. And most of all, safe. We will be returning to Falmouth on this cruise and will be staying in the fenced in/safe/clean area.
This is my opinion, so please, no flames.
Flesherton - I have fond memories of the nickel and dime store and the bakery from my childhood. My grandfather had a cottage on a stream leading into Eugenia Lake. We did a lot of snowmobiling in the area, swimming races in the Flesherton pond, and turkey shots somewhere up there. That was a number of years ago. Okay 40 - 50 years ago. I am sure things have changed.Hi everyone! This is our 4th cruise and we're bringing the whole family (from Orangeville, Acton, Flesherton and Calgary Canada). I have never done the "fish extender" thing, but am thinking of trying it. Is there a group for this? Has anyone stopped in Falmouth before? That's the only port I haven't been to and am a little concerned about it...thoughts? Thanks and see you all soon!
We had the same opinion of St. Maarten when we did the around town tour.
