Magic Express

I have a question about Magic Express. I looked through some other threads and didn't see the answer. I booked my hotel through Disney. First online and then I called to change dates. They didn't say anything to me at all about booking Magic Express from the airport to POR. Can I book online or do I need to call Disney? Also, if my trip is in May, can I do it this far in advance? Do any of you who have used it take your luggage with you on the bus or do you let them deliver it later? Help with ME would be appreciated.

You can book directly at 407-W-Disney. You can definitely book now.

You have the choice of tagging your luggage with the ME yellow tags they will send you or take them aboard the ME bus yourself (in which case you would not use the yellow tags); for arrivals after 10 pm, you need to retrieve your luggage at baggage claim and bring it aboard the bus.

The day before your trip home you will receive an envelope telling you what time your bus will leave the following day. Note that the departure time will be about 3 hours before your flight time -- yes, if your flight is at 7 am, your ME departure time will be around 4:00 am. But security lines seem to be crowded all the time at the Orlando airport, so the time goes by quickly! Check out the All Ears website for lots of good information.

We have always let ME handle our luggage. Why wait 20 minutes and then lug it over to the bus? We just make sure anything we need for the first 12 hours is in our carryon bags.

Agree agree agree! We usually will have a carry on (or backpack) with us and will change to shorts or bathing suits when we get to resort and have bell services hold the one bag until room is ready. On a side note once bell services holds the bag for you, if you happen to need to get into it, they will retrieve case and bring to you in the lobby.

I don't want to handle my luggage on the trip back to the airport. For a morning flight (mine is at 9:30 am), when to I give my luggage to bell services / bus pickup place?

To clarify, DME will get my luggage from my resort to the plane without me passing it through security, right?

Magical Express won't deliver your luggage back to MCO. You will need to take it to the Resort Airline Check-in desk at the resort. They will tag it and send it to the airport. (Think curbside check-in at your hotel.) I think they open at 5:00 am. Since Magical Express picks you up 3 hours before your flight, you will need to check your bags with RAC bright and early.
