Magic Christmas Cruise 2010 (Dec 18th - 29th) - ***UPDATED - post #411 ***

Can anyone recommend a transportation service from Orlando to the port?
We will be staying a few nights in Orlando before the cruise and need transportation to the cruise and then after the cruise to the airport. We are looking for the best priced reliable service. Does anyone have a favorite transportation service? :confused3

Thanks for your help! :flower3:

My only personal experience is either driving, car rental or Magical Express. I have seen some great pictures of limo rentals that looked like fun, but have not done this myself. I have also heard that some of the transportation options are here today gone tomorrow, so it is a good idea to check on here to see what experiences people have had. I can look it up in the new passporter cruise guide if you want to know what they recommend, but no first hand experience here.

Our DS will celebrate his 11th Birthday on the second day of the :santa:pirate:  I will PM you his email...

We have never used walkie talkies... We use a dry erase board in the cabin and make him check in.. I have enough stuff to carry around because of my beautiful wife... ;)

We brought walkie talkies one year - but didn't have much luck using them! For us, it was hard to get good reception in the metal ship and when we did the working channels were pretty crowded. It was easier just to leave messages on room phones. Of course, kids would probably have more fun with it. My kids love playing with ours around the house now that they are older. I just didn't find them great for real communication.

Hi Everyone-
We're sailing on this cruise too and wanted to pop in and say Hi! It will be me, DH and our 7 and 9 year old DDs. This will be our 8th Disney cruise. We sailed the Magic for Christmas last year and had such a nice time, we decided to do it again this year.

Tinkmischief - I PM'd you our FE info.

I look forward to meeting all of you soon!!

Have a great day!

OK- It is official. We are sailing on this Holiday Cruise. :cool1:

I am really excited to have something so fun to look forward to over the next few months!

We are the Busch's: Me (Angie), DH (Rick), DS12 (Grant) and DS9 (Jack)
We will be in room 7007.

Now I will re-read this site, PM the appropriate people, and get psyched!

Well, the wedding is over, and I am back to work so everything has calmed down. I finally caught up and read all the posts. Our board has sure been busy. It is great that our DIS group is growing. Welcome Aboard, riggins, minnieapolis, and CarolynElizabeth.

jgura, I hope this cruise works out for you and your family (the more the merrier).

tinkmischief, did you get my PM? Thanks a million for organizing our FE. In regards to a cutoff date, I think just before Thanksgiving is reasonable.

vminick, what a fabulous Christmas surprise your children have in store for them. It feels so good to have the cruise paid off. Now, it is time to save our spending money.

3princessMommy, I am very interested in getting t-shirts. I also want to make magnets with our cruise logo. I really love our logo. Thank your DH.

CrusinLattas, I agree the first sea day would most likely be better than our very first day, but last time our meet was the first sea day, and we had to miss it because we had brunch reservations at Palo.

HFC1969, we are flying in the day before (land at 6PM), and we are also staying at the Hyatt. ReggieB, join us so we can have a pool party:-)

Talk to you soon. Take care.

Just dropping in to say "hello". We are back from the Baltic Sea and had very hot weather. It was an awesome cruise.

I am trying to catch up on the postings. I see we have lots of interest in the fish extenders and I haven't seen any interest in the Secret Santa event. Is anyone interested in doing the Secret Santa gift giving event? The children certainly love it.

Take care.

My cruise excitement is high right now, so I will probably be checking this thread a few times daily. It makes me very happy!:woohoo:

riggins- I see that you were on the cruise last year at Christmas. Any chance that you have Navigators that you could scan into a file and share? Perhaps that would be a lot of work, but I would love to see what additional things they do on the extended cruise for the holidays. It will also help me plan my clothing choices. :rolleyes1

I would certainly be interested in Secret Santa. I wasn't sure if that was part of the fish extenders or something separate. You guys all are the experts, so please fill me in on the details.

What lovely wedding photos. Enjoy the christmas cruise. We Christmas on the Magic in 2006 it was 10 days of total relaxation and fun.

Enjoy:flower3:

My children would love the Secret Santa exchange, so we're up for that too! It sounds like fun :santa:

Pool party it is :thumbsup2... Last Christmas.. we got in early and went to GF for some hot chocolate... and then went to the pool.

I will check with Dr. Amy.. to see when we fly in.

Thanks for the transportation suggestions. I really appreciate it. :cool1:
I am still researching and price comparing. It seems that Disney transportation is a little on the high end.

Is there a cut off date for the FE exchange sign up?
I am trying to make sure I have enough time to get the FE gifts and the right amount. This will be my first FE and I (and my family) are really looking forward to it. Thank you tinkmischief for organizing this :cheer2:

Have a fabulous day everyone.
Our magical cruise is coming up fast!! Yipee!! :yay:

Welcome aboard! Will your girls be 7 and 9 at the time of the cruise? Our girls (3PrincessMommy is DW) will be 9, 7, and 3 (almost 4). Any chance you'd be interested in connecting the kids by e-mail before the cruise? We've done this in the past, and it was great for the kids to already have a freind before they even get on the ship. If you're up for it, I'll PM you our e-mail address.

The Secret Santa is different than the fish extenders. I organized it for the Christmas 2006 cruise and people seemed to really enjoy it. I will keep you in mind if we get enough interest in the Secret Santa.

Hello! :jumping1:

Last week this time husband casually mentioned possibly going away for Thanksgiving or over our daughter's holiday break. Yadda yadda yadda

This will be my husband's and daughter's first cruise ever and my first since a doing a Windjammer :guilty: and a NCL in the mid-90s.

W00T!!! :beach:

Daughter has her birthday the first day on board princess:

Squeeeee!

Okay, I am going to poke my nose in on your cruise thread, but, I have a question. Can anyone tell me to final final payment date on this cruise? I want to watch for sales, although the prices are pretty good now, I am hoping they will get better so I can justify another 11 days on the Magic this year. LOL. Hi to Deb and John!:woohoo:

We just booked yesterday and the total balance due is on 8/20 (non-suite room).
Hello, fellow Tennessean! We're in Cookeville and it is warm.:goodvibes
