Magic Christmas Cruise 2010 (Dec 18th - 29th) **** PART III ****

Just picked up 2 small packages of water: 8 pk and 12 pk, one for each of our carry ons.

Caryn, are you driving? If you are flying all liquids must fit in a ziploc container I believe. Perhaps I am wrong, but we fly a few times each year and this is our experience.

Don't want to stick my nose in where it doesn't belong, but I also wouldn't want any surprises when you trying to get to your destination.

No worries and thanks!! We are driving. Talking about the carry on for the ship. :thumbsup2

Can someone remind me what paperwork I need to print out to take?

1) cruise doc's
2) signing authorization
3) passports
4) FE list

What else do I need?

We have a hard freeze (25F) forecast for Monday night. That makes a lot of extra work since our plants and pipes are not built for freezing weather. Freezes are a hassle and usually turn out badly for the landscape and wildlife around here. Better this week than next, or we might have real problems.

Do you have heat in your home? I know many people here in So Florida do not have heat at all. When temps get low, all the cold weather shelters open and dress codes are out the window. You dress in what ever you can find to keep you warm. :rotfl: :rotfl: There's a lot of people dressed very crazy when it is cold. I hope everything works out. Looks like orange juice prices will be going up along with strawberries and some other fruits and veggies. Very distressing for the farmers. :sad2:

My dad was admitted to our larger hospital to the north yesterday in cardio critical care, apparent heart failure. Too much fluid in his lungs and kidney disfunction to heart cath yesterday, has to wait til Monday. Possible bypass if heart isn't too damaged already.
Have no idea what to do. Don't have trip insurance so can't imagine cancelling but also can't imagine leaving for 12 days in this situation. Not traveling on a passport, so if something happens I can't come home til it's time to come home.
Even so, long days at hospital means nothing done at home to get ready to go if we get to.
Strange, bad, upsetting situation all the way around.

My prayers are with you and your family. I hope you find clarity and peace. :grouphug:

School already called for tomorrow. Driving is a little dicey out there. Still trying to figure out layers for Thurs/Fri/Sat. So excited!

Hi to all, late to this thread, pretty amazing how many people are on it. We have a family of 6, me, DW, DS 21, DS 19, DD 16 and DS 13. We originally booked the 10 day over new year but changed when they changed it to the 2 five days, we decided to try the Christmas cruise and we're really happy we did, the itinerary is great and it looks like a great group onboard, hope to catch up on some of the activities.

Thanks! We haven't been outside since we got back from Church, it's miserable out there! I've been packing all day, while DH says 'how are we going to fit all of that stuff in our room?' and 'I could fit all of my stuff in a backpack'. :scared1: Alrighty then! Had a little vision problem come up last week, I had Lasik about 3 years ago, at first they said it is fluid behind my eye, then it was 'something on the optic nerve', so tomorrow I'm hoping to get in with a neuro opthamologist. Really hoping and praying it's just from stress and a viral infection and will go away on its' own, that's one of the possibilities. For now, I'm back in contacts, but at least I can see!

Just in case anyone out there missed it......WAR EAGLE! Cam Newton won the Heisman!:cheer2: (with orange and blue shakers of course!)

:welcome: Will have DH (BigAWL) add you to the roster on the front page. Lots of info there for various activities available. See you on Saturday!

2 hour delay here tomorrow. Of course things could change by tomorrow morning. Roads are pretty dicey here too. We have a thin layer of ice which is making everything slick. I would rather have several inches of snow any day over the ice.

It is cold, cold, cold out. Right now it is 2 degrees but feels like -19. This is way too cold for December.

Welcome Aboard!! We have a really great group here and can't wait to meet everyone on Saturday. (Some on Friday!:thumbsup2)

I know we only have a few days left until the cruise, but we also have a teen thread going. The link is on the first post.

Girls passed out on the Disney bus last night on the way home to SSR after Fantasmic. So, why are they up again this morning at 6am???????:confused3

Oh, and 27 degrees in Orlando on Tuesday??? Really???? I thought layering would be enough, then succumbed to hats, scarves, and mittens - but now do we need winter coats too????? Of course, would need a new suitcase too since all are already at 50lbs.....:sad2::sad2:

Are you flying home directly after the cruise? We live in Orlando, and I work at the resorts at WDW. If you need an extra bag brought on board, just let me know. Or if you end up buying some warmer clothes, I can ship them to your home afterwards. We will be driving to the port and parking there.

Also, I don't know your sizes, but we could help out the grown ups with warmer clothes, sweatshirts, etc. But I know you have young girls, and we would be no help there!

We had to have crossed paths on the Baltic cruise! Connie

OH! I hope things are better tomorrow for you! There are so many cancellations! Good Travels! See you Saturday!

I am so hoping the Florida weather improves by Saturday. I don't mind the cold as long as it's sunny..Do any of you Florida locals know where I will be able to pick up some shorts for my 15 year old?? I think the ones he has are fine but he kept pointing to his knee saying "you can see it" So even though they are only a little tight in the waist he's refusing to wear them...I do not want to see him in Basketball shorts for the whole cruise. I would be very grateful for any suggestions for where I can get a few pair of mens shorts. Thanks a bunch!! Eve

Thanks Connie. It's still going to be really cold tomorrow - but hey we are expecting a heat wave by the end of the week and temps will be about 20 degrees.:lmao:

Are you still planning on a Champange Girls event? I am all in if you are. I love champagne:drinking1 and I even have a pink boa.:thumbsup2

Amazing. I am almost packed. I only need to sew my husbands pirate shirt. I had to go today and purchase another suitcase and I finally broke down and purchased the black dress I wanted for formal night on the 19th. Four more very busy days of work. They will go very fast. I still need to get a pedicure. Has anyone done this on the ship?
Leilani my mom is in Nebraska and she said it was cold. I hope everything is better on Friday.
