Magic Christmas Cruise 2010 (Dec 18th - 29th) - PART II

Just got a call from DCL. They cancelled our excursion on St. Maarten. Grandpa and 3princessgrandma were taking 2 of our granddaughters fishing. We had set up to have special excursions with each of our granddaughters. Will have to try something else. :-( The girls always want grandpa to take them fishing when they visit.

Is the Character Brunch rumor different from the normal Character Breakfast on the 7+ night cruises? Not sure about the quotes...if it is not Princess Bride I have a hard time quoting it...

Hi, I just thought I would introduce myself. My name is Hannah and I'm Australian, I go to boarding school. Last night my dad phoned me with the fantastic news that my family will be joining you guys on this cruise, after spending 10 nights (just Hannah & Dad) in WDW!

Things are still tentative now, but I would love to be a part of this thread, just to keep up with the news if nothing else.


ps. Between now and our vacation I have my final exams, as well as Musical rehearsals AND Jamieson week (Community service, dorm decorating, holting, caroling at the nursing homes etc. just something my boarding school does the last week of the school year), so there may be a bit of silence from me

So far, I haven't found a volcano excursion outside of DCL either. I am going to keep looking.... will let you know if I find anything! We are already snorkeling in Barbados - trying to do different things in each port although I am sure the rest of the family would be fine with doing "whatever" or "absolutely nothing", haha!

Great -- I would really be interested in the volcano. I think I have the beach by motorboat scheduled now -- nothing else seemed very whippy to me.

Does anyone know of any zip line excursions for the younger crowd? The only one I found was 12 and up. This would be for my 9 year old tomboy who really wanted to do Costa Rica for the ziplining but family vote yielded this trip. Thought I would surprise her with a substitute if I could

Google translates the website, so it's not terribly helpful, but it should give you a starting point. They have locations in both Guadeloupe and Martinique and as far as I can tell, they do have something for kids as young as 4. I wish I could get more info on it because I'd be tempted to take my gang there, but it seems like a bit of a gamble because I just can't get much clarity on it. Let me know if you have more luck.

Also, we're doing the zoological park/crayfish waterfall in Guadeloupe and the tour notes make mention of a canopy tour at the national park. That might be another option, but again, it's tough to get clear and concise information.

DS 10 (will be 11 second day of cruise) is still looking for pen pals.. I haven't let him join the teen thread... just becuz he isn't a teen.

My DS 10 is also looking for a friend to chat with before the cruise. PM me if your son would like to meet him. He isnt allowed to join the teen thread like his older brother either.

We were thinking of the 16th. But with 3 kids we didnt want to have a late night then travel to Coco Beach the next day. Am thinking of the 14th instead. Do you have your tickets already? We usually wait and get them the day before, we have been before so if we didnt get in it wouldnt matter so much.

Hey guys! I have a DS 11 as well (turned 11 in August). He doesn't have a sign on here though... I suspect my son will spend quite a bit of time on Deck 10.

What date does everyones vacation start? We leave Dec 8th is that the earliest?
Also will the secret santa be organised by then as I am unsure if I will be able to get online once we leave.

We fly into MCO at 2pm on the 17th. We will be at WDW (Saratoga Springs) from the 29th to the 2nd.

If you are talking about the FEs, I am sure Melissa will have that all done before you leave on the 8th.

Welcome Aboard Hannah! I saw that you signed onto the teen thread too. My DD is on there(lyss) also. She's pretty busy during the week with dance and school but tries to get on there when she can.
