Magic Christmas Cruise 2010 (Dec 18th - 29th) - PART II

Okay, thank you. :goodvibes

We booked direct with DCL so no TA. I have a number for DCL that charges at a local UK rate and I also found a number that lets you call USA for 0.5 pence a minute! :thumbsup2

I'll call them later, once I've worked out which rotation sounds best - DCL is open till 3am! :worship:

Sarah - you can call but I have you on my list for DISers dinning late who want to all sit in the same area. I am going to request the PLA rotation for our group so if you want to different rotation let me know and I will take you off the list. I need more information from everyone so I was just getting ready to PM you. Look for it!

Walking groups at 7am and 8am -- and possibly later sound great, it's vacation and we love options!

Just booked 12 M Regatta for me & DH. Are there 2 sailings? We are on the 8:15 - 11:30am one. Hope there is time after to go to Marigot for shopping and eating. I am nervous about the traffic and taxi times. Other option is to go fetch DD after the 12 M and go to the close-by beach.

We are doing the 8:15 Reagtta too! It will be me, DD(14), DD(21), DDBF(22) and then we are going to grab the rest of our party and head to the Sunset Bar & Grill to watch the planes land. I've heard a lot about the traffic so we will just have to plan for that on the way back.

Oh yes, thank you I forgot. I would still like to be part of the dining group and that rotation is fine, thank you. :flower3:

I never realised there was so much to learn about planning for Disney - who knew!

There are no bad dining rotations... it's all good!

Holy cow! I just realized that we embark two months from today.

No problem Sarah!:thumbsup2 I sent you a PM.

There is a lot but that's what makes it so much fun. The rest of my party - none of them DISers(except my 14yo DD now:banana:) just laugh at me, but I just tell them we wouldn't know half the stuff we do about DCL and WDW if not for the DIS. My aunt call me "Tour Guide Barbie".:rolleyes1

Our travel agent (expedia dot com) told me when I called, after being put on hold to check with Disney, that we were also confirmed L-A-P for the early seating. I wanted AP for the formals and was happy to have PC for the Pirate night. We will be dining at Palo on the 26th and am just fine missing a PC.

SQUEEEEEEEEE!

Amen... We don't care either.. Although this is our first early rotation EVER... must be because of Vika.. she is only 4.. Who knows..:confused3

Holy cow! I just realized that we embark two months from today.

Just txt'd Amy that.. right now I hope to be getting in the Goofy pool with a bucket of cold ones... :cool1:

Two months from today ... will be on board, already having seen the new HP movie and been to HP at Universal ... :woohoo:

Fun day for DCL news. The 2012 itineraries came out and the date of the Fantasy's maiden voyage - April 7th 2012! Platinum and Gold CC members can book starting tomorrow and everyone else on Wednesday. I just watched some video on the Dream and Castaway Cay updates - both look incredible! It looks like they will have an interactive adventure with some of the artwork - my guess is something like Kim Possible at Epcot with a detective twist.

The Fantasy will be taking over the Magic's normal 7 night route. There was not anything on where the Magic will go after March and the itineraries only went up to August on Fantasy and Dream and the Wonder only showed through April. The Wonder will be in LA going to Mexico - Cabo and Puerta Vallarta on 6 & 7 night voyages.

We just booked this cruise today! We are me, dh, dd 17, ds16, ds15. Will be in 2 rooms. We are from Fort Worth, TX. Anyone else from this area going? Would love to meet beforehand.:dance3:

We live right outside Fort Worth! How wonderful! Are you all flying or driving?

I did pin trading back in Feb at WDW and really enjoyed it. Will bring my lanyard and a few starters :-)

Hi, I have two daughters the exact same age(6 and 4) and would love to make some friends on the boat.. We plan on being at the kid meet. Not to sure how it works though, been there on the first day and the pool is pretty busy. Hopefully someone can give me a better idea on how to find the group.

Great! Our kids would love to make friends early! Finding the group can be a challenge. I was thinking about printing off some 'tents' for tables with our group logo on it that we could use at our meets - of course if it is windy that may not work well - I have not seen this done before - usually you just show up in the location and look for people looking for people - it can be a bit challenging...:rotfl:. If anyone else has seen some good ways of spotting the group I would love to hear it! With as large as our group is getting, we may need one of those flags tour guides use...lol.

Great Caryn, we'll do the same. I hear the officers' pin trade can be interesting -- adults pushing kids out of the way. :sad2:

Spotting each other:

Back in the day (05, lol :lmao:) we wore neon green bracelets -- very high tech, made from neon green yarn. We were thus able to spot each other quickly. We could even do green and red mixed -- for Christmas DIS'rs. :santa:

DVC, we are late dining and requested PLA. I might be interested in this!

Do any off you all do pin trading? We never have, but DD9 had a blast with it at Disneyland this summer so I thought we might try it on the cruise.

We just started it on our last WDW trip and REALLY enjoyed it! My DH started out a reluctant participant and by the end of the trip he was enjoying it the most! It really added a lot of fun and people interaction to our trip! I plan on using trading pins with my F/E - so everyone in our group will have pins to trade...smile...unless we split into two groups.

How many pins per person do you bring to trade?

I never thought about using pins for FE gifts -- how clever and easy for the craft challenged, like me. This makes me think maybe I CAN participate in the FE. :thumbsup2

Sounds great! I will send you a PM with the information I need. We are trying to set it up so that the DISers who want to do this will be in the same area in the dinning room. I have done this on a couple of cruises and it was a lot of fun.
