Magic Christmas Cruise 2010 (Dec 18th - 29th) - PART II

I got Bob the Kindle. When the next gen price dropped to $$139US, I caved. We are in the middle of nowhere and no Barnes & Noble nearby, so did not really consider the Nook.

57 minutes!!! Good Luck, All ------->:wizard:

I have a nook and I love it. I looked at both and I just liked the feel of the nook better. I don't go into Barnes & Nobel that often so I just use my wireless at home to download books. DD got one for her birthday so now we can lend books to each other if we want. I don't think it would matter too much which e-reader I had, it's just great not having to lug around a bunch of books.

Okay, I am signing off for tonight. I might try to post some pictures tomorrow. Good luck to everyone tonight!

Stroke of 11PM Central Time I was able to get on, register DD6, get dinner at Palo at a time and on a date with which I was happy, got the several excursions set, and several spa appointments. I hope it was this easy for everyone :surfweb::hug::woohoo:

So glad it worked for you, too, Sarah  On-line check-in was not working for me either, but I figured there was time. ;) W00T!

Caryn

Glad you guys were able to get everything you wanted!:cool1::banana::yay:

Caryn - are we snorkeling in Barbados?

Sarah - just keep checking online and check when you get on board. They hold back some of the reservations so there could be an opening once you get on board.

LeiLani, the second session at Turtle Snorkle was full. I'll be at the same time as Kitster before your family, then I'll be following her to Harrison's Cave. :rolleyes1 Barbados is our busy day.

Looks like a great plan. Too bad your snorkel is not with us, but glad you will be on one with another DISer. The stingray encounter at CC is a lot of fun. We have done it 2 times and it's a great way to experience the stingrays especially for younder children.

Days til vaca!

Welcome to all new cruisers!

I love reading everyones plans! :thumbsup2 We are bums... never book anything until last minute or book onboard.. Kinda fly by the seat of our pants...:rolleyes1 Espically this year with our DD princess: first time on the pirate::santa: She sits and watchs youtube videos and says that she is going on Mickey's boat at Christmas... I could cry each time ..

Bought DW a new flash for her camera the other day. I figure we could break our all time record easily of pictures taken. :scared1:

Happy Monday! :surfweb:

I get to the gym in the wee hours of the morning! I am usually one of the first few people to arrive in the morning:-) Crazy, I know. I am on vacation. I usually get up at 4 AM so 6 AM is sleeping in. The CC 5k Run sounds good too, but I do not know if my joints will be up to it. I like Deck 4 too, but early in the morning it is very cold so I usually head to the gym.

I generally get up earlier than my family. I too wake up at 4 AM at home so I do a bit of sleeping in, but then get up and either go to the gym or run around Deck 4. On our last cruise, I had just finished up a boot camp workout so tried to incorporate some of that while running around Deck 4. I do have to agree that it can be a bit chilly running. I did the CC 5K on our last cruise and had a great time. I am looking forward to running again. Anyone up for joining me?

This SoCal girl will be waving too! If it is below 70, I am freezing. Maybe, I should get a scuba suit. We have had a very hot autumn. It is crazy.

BBQ Mommy: Heat! We have the AC on and the ceiling fans going.

Being from Seattle and all, anything about 67 is a heat wave!!! When I get a bit chilled from water, I will be waving from the shore the rest of the day!!

Day 9 - St. Thoamas
Magens Bay/All @ 9:15am
Palo/DH&Me @ 6:30pm

We'll be at Magens Bay as well, so we'll see you there! My husband and I will also wave to you at Palo's as we have a 7:30 reservation there on the same day. Our 13th anniversary is on the 27th, so we're doing Palo a day early and then the couples villa on the 27th.

We're also doing Harrison's Cave, but we're in the early group, so we'll miss you there!

I'm so glad that everyone's plans worked out! It seems like it's getting so close all of a sudden. Especially with all of the fall holidays and activities to keep us busy! :yay:

Anyone up for joining me?

I'm just starting to run, so if I've worked my way up enough to join a seasoned runner, I'd love to have a workout buddy! I'm hoping that I'll be up to the 5K at CC by then as that sounds fun! Of course, it depends exactly HOW early you get up...:rolleyes1

MATH! Glad you'll be on the afternoon cave trip, too :cutie:

It will be great to see you at Palo, Vanessa. Magens looks lovely. :)

I *think* our plan in Martinique (have not told husband yet) is to take the ferry from Fort-de-France to Pointe du Bout (5.5 euro r/t) and amble about the area there. It is across the bay from Fort-de-France and is a fairly developed resort area with an active marina, but also has a casino, boutiques, cafes, and restaurants.

May try Havana Cafe:

My try La Pacha:

(May graze at both or end up somewhere we have not heard of yet ;))

Havana Cafe has my vote because I am feeling the nostalgia

And for anyone nostalgic for metropolitan France, there's a short list of des galettes, the buckwheat crêpes endemic to Brittany stuffed, Breton style, with savory or sweet fillings that include ham and cheese or ice cream with chocolate sauce.

I really am.:woohoo:

That looks great, Sarah :thumbsup2

I am very tempted by the Martinique 'Botanical Garden and Footbridge' :)
