I'm the disney nut in the family, and my dear husband is about 50% as bad. His passion lately however is magic, like the card tricks, look behind your ear, goofiness. Oie....anyway, I remember when I visited LA there was a really cool place called Magic Castle {http://www.yelp.com/biz/magic-castle-hollywood }. Our 5 year anniversary is coming, and we are going to disneyland! Oct 1 {my birthday!} through 7th....our annivesary. I would love to take him to this place, but its members only, but you can get passes through a member. I would rather go to club 33, but hey it would make his year! Anyone know of any members that could help? I would forever be in your debt, I love this board!!!

I think there are few members on this board. I'd thought about getting passes for my son, but his girlfriend was only 20 at the time.

There is still the magic shop on Mainstreet too.

Malcon10t, ouch. That's like being 1/8 of in inch too short for Space Mountain.

dkrahne, I hope you find a way in. It's an amazing experience. You may want to post on the Southern CA section of the DISBoards. Might be more general of a topic than just DLR. :wizard:

Not sure if you're just being funny, but as someone who loves spending time in the Magic Shoppe on Main Street, it's not even CLOSE to the Magic Castle.

Good luck,
Dreams

Found this regarding getting in, couldn't hurt to try right?

(1) Look at who is performing at the Magic Castle on the day you intend to visit. (Their website has a calendar and roster of performers). (2) Visit the performer's Facebook or Myspace page, or email them directly, and indicate that you want to see them perform and ask for an invite, or pass. (3) Now flattered, the performer will put you on the list, or email you passes, and you can enter and come as you please without having to buy or pay for anything. Depending on their level of perks, sometimes they will even discount, or waive, the cover charge.

Hope you get to go. It is really a fun experience.

If you do go, be sure to get there for an early dinner (if you're going to eat there) so that you can time the shows. The shows are better on the weekdays because the crowd is more manageable (at least, that is my experience). :flower:
