Magic Bands

I have a bit of a dilemma. I booked my trip in June and in October ordered magic band covers off of Etsy. Then the new magic band came out. I heard somewhere if you booked before they came out then you get the old ones. Anyone have any input? We are going the 3rd week in March.

You will definitely have new magic bands for those dates. I would cancel your order. They don't ship magic bands until about a month to 2 weeks from your visit, so you should def have new magic bands.

You will receive the new Magicband 2.0.

They are shipping based off your trip, and not when you booked. Most reports indicate that the old ones are slowly working their way out of the system. All AP band orders were 2.0, and I believe starting tail end of last month all on site bookings were supposed to be the same.

Ok. Maybe I can somehow make the stickers work and if not rush order new ones.

Contact the seller. One of my favorite things about etsy is that you can work with the person you bought items from. I ordered some glitter stickers for my Magic band, I'm going to wait and see if they still fit but if not I've already contacted the seller about exchanging them for ones that do fit.

If your staying on site they will mail them to you before you leave. You can customize the color on your MDE (my Disney experience). If offsite you still get a card I believe but you can order/buy them from the Disney store or once you get there.

Magic bands are bracelets that you wear on your wrist that have an RIDF chip. The chip is linked to your "My Disney experience" Account. The band in essence, serves as your ticket, your fastpass, your credit card (if staying on site), your dining plan (if you have the plan), and your photo pass. You "DON'T NEED" the magic band, but they are nice to have. If you are staying on site, you will get a free set. Look under My Disney Experience and you will have the option to customize your bands. If you live in the US, they will ship to you a few weeks before your trip. If you don't live in the US, they will be waiting for you at check in.

If you are staying offsite, you can buy magic bands if you would like them.
