I called Disney this morning and two cast members were unable to answer my question. Do you get Magic Bands when you stay at the Campgrounds at Fort Wilderness? I've asked in the Disney Junkies group on Facebook as well and have gotten different answers. I figure you guys would know best. Also, if you do get them, how far ahead of time do they send them before your trip? We leave beginning of May but wont' be down to Disney until end of May. I'm making reservations for the campground today.

Yes you get them like any other Disney Resort Guest.

Not sure of the timing for delivery but it would be the same as the other resorts and I do see your dilemma .

I believe they'll issue you plain gray ones upon check-in if you happen to leave home before they arrive in the mail.

ok, great. thank you so much, chartle. So many different answers I've received. Glad I found you guys. I'm so excited!

As FYI I believe Magic Bands ship 30 days before your arrival date. Bama Ed

Make sure to customize your bands within MDE ahead of time and they will arrive to you about 2-3 weeks prior to your trip.

Whether you go the the parks or not, you will get them.

Now FW has you re-entering the campsite with your bands and comfort stations.

Never fear happy camper, you will get your magical band! They love love to track your every movement and love to watch you spend willy nilly with no clue on how much your really racking up!

We have stayed there 3 times in the last 8 months and got magic bands 2 out of the three times. The only reason we did not get them the one time is because I literaly booked the site the night before. As long as you book a few days in advance you will get them. If it is too close to the checkin date you may not be able to customize them but you will get the grey bands upon checkin. In I think mid January I think they enabled your magic bands to unlock the bathrooms at night but other than that and them being an included suviner I have not seen any other use for the bands at the campground. :smickey:

My magic bands shipped Feb. 11 for our March 14 check-in.
Once you get your UT ticket you just add the ticket number to MDE and it goes on that band and also allows you to make all your FP reservations.

BTW, linking your UT tickets is very easy with the smart phone app - the app walks you right through snapping a scan of the QR code that is on the physical cards that you'll receive from UT. I had read somewhere here on the DIS that it is easier with the phone app than through the web app. Based on that I didn't even try the web app, but the phone made it very easy!

You get new magic bands every trip? Seems to me that they should have a way of reactivating them when you check in on your future trips, instead of sending out new ones, unless you request new because of miss placing them. Maybe they do I have not seen anything on it. :confused3

Not only do you get new ones with every trip, you get new ones with every reservation. I called and tried to have them not send them and they can't override the system. The way our reservations have worked out on our last two trips, DH and I each have FIVE! That's what you get when you have to cobble together a patchwork of days. I'll admit that it is nice to have a backup and a choice of colors, but five of them is just plain ridiculous.

I see everyone has already answered, but I'll answer too. Yes! In fact we are going to be staying at Fort Wilderness Campground the week after Easter. We got our magic bands last week (so about 2 1/2 to 3 weeks prior) to when we're going. Have fun!!!

What is the name of the app?
