I will be going to WDW next month for the first time in 4 years and a lot has changed since then. I will be staying off property but have been wanting those little magic bands for some reason. So I was wondering if there was any point to buying a MB if I'm staying off property. Would I be able to set up any fast passes or anything with the band.
Thanks

The magic bands make fast passes and park entry a little easier. I'm not sure they are going to benefit an offsite guest more than that. You need a Disney Experience account to make fast passes ahead of time. Once you link your tickets to your account you will be able to make fast pass selections 30 days ahead. After that, you can link the bands once you purchase them and use them for admission and FP.

You can still make FP+ reservations (30 days in advance for offsite). You will use your RFID enabled park tickets at the scanner instead of a MB.

The only added benefit would be if you were planning to purchase Memory Maker. With the band, ride photos are added to your photopass account automatically. MBs are equipped with long range RFID tech. The cards are not.

I think the bands are $12.95, so it is up to you if you want them.

Thanks so much for the help..if I can get a fast pass without the MB then I think I'll just save my money.
I think that's a good idea. For on site guests it's good for getting into your room and having the ability to charge purchases with the band. Since neither of those would be an option I would save your money and put it towards something more fun!
