Our magic bands were due to arrive today as per the tracking number that we were sent. The last status is that they were out for delivery.

Well, they did not arrive with our mail .

Our post office is a mess. They constantly bring us the wrong mail, and our packages are always brought to the wrong house! We've complained numerous times, and are always told they will "speak to the carrier."

So, we arrive on October 16th, and have no magic bands. The post office has no idea where they are.

Has this ever happened to anyone else?

I know the hotel has grey magic bands they can issue, but we don't want them!

We are arriving late, and don't want to be bothered with the whole process when I've already arranged everything online.

Also, this is our first time staying on property. We are staying on property to experience the magic bands. We were all very excited to get our own personalized bands.

Do you know if disney will send another set?

If not, I am thinking of cancelling my room reservation, and staying off site again.

It sounds like you live in my neighborhood. :lmao: Does your post office answer their phone when you call? Mine hasn't for two years. Sometimes they take their phone off the hook or connect it to the fax line. It's like children run the place.

Anyway, to address your actual questions: Yes, Disney will replace bands lost in shipping. They did it for me over the summer because my postman left mine in the lobby of my apartment building :confused3 and someone else took the package. I live on the fourth floor but you'd think he could ring my bell and ask me to come get it... :headache:

Our post office when delivering a package has to use a little hand held scanner when they leave it off at our mailbox or porch...don't let them get away with it. They need to be responsible...good luck

I wouldn't think canceling is an option. You are within the 30 days isn't there a pretty big penalty? Hope they will send new ones or send them to the hotel to give to you upon check in

Canceling because you don't want gray bands? Seriously?

No, I wouldn't cancel just because we don't want grey bands. I would cancel because I don't want the hassle of arriving unprepared without magic bands. We won't be arriving until 11 PM, and don't want to spend 2 hours at the desk trying to get everything sorted out. Yes, the magic bands are important to us. This is our first time on property so we would like to have the whole experience. We have a room only reservation, and can cancel up to 5 days before check in date. We would move to a non-disney hotel.

It sounds like you're planning to cut off your nose to spite your face.

It takes literally less than a minute for them to assign a new magic band at the front desk. You can always buy the decorations to put on them. I wouldn't stress about the color or if your names are on the inside. I know it seems like you're missing out on the experience, but you really are not.

You would cancel because you can't get colored magic bands? You just said it was the post offices fault they lost your package... Not Disney's. Did you even try and call Disney and let them know what happened?

I'm sorry but this whole post is ridiculous. Lol.

I think the OP meant is that she wants to cancel because she had planned everything out.
With the gray bands, will she be able to put everything (all her plans) on to this new band?

Yes the gray ones would have everything and if the color is really that important she can buy them for 12 bucks. The plans are all stored on MDE not the bands. The bands just access the info from MDE.

It takes the same time bands or no bands. They just quickly go get the gray ones tap each one to the Mickey and off you go. 10 minutes tops to get you checked in and all set up. If you are worried about lost time you can still check in online and then call and let the front desk know that you didn't receive your bands and would appreciate if the grays ones were ready in time for your check in.

I know I wouldn't cancel my Disney reservation because my stupid post office lost the colored name bands.
Like everyone suggested, get the bands at the front desk when you check in, buy something to personalize the bands in the park and have a great Disney time.
Don't let the USPS ruin your Disney experience.

Have you tried to call Disney to see what they can do? I mean Disney is pretty understanding, and I am sure they will be able to ship new Magic Bands or have colored ones available if you explain the circumstances. They could probably deactivate the ones that were sent out. So, relax and call Disney and see what they say. I am sure they will make sure your trip is magical and that you won't just get grey magic bands. I am sure this has happened before.

This is your answer, plain and simple, didn't this occur to you at all? Instead of wasting time here call Disney arrange for the lost bands to be deactivated pronto, get new ones sorted and pick them up at the desk, everyone outside of North america has to do it that way, it's no big deal, we can't have them sent to the house to decorate before we leave, so I'm bringing some little pieces and gem glue to jazz mine up my first night there as I'll be too tired to do much else. As for cancelling the reservation, so close to the trip it'll be more of a palaver to rearrange accommodation than order new bands over the phone, crazy idea.
I do sympathise with having rubbish mailmen, we have them here too and like you, when you try to contact them it gets you nowhere.

Im glad everyone thinks my issue with our magic bands is so trivial. Sorry, but it's a concern with us. If anything, we wanted the bands we ordered just as keepsakes for after the trip. Its not too much to ask to want something we are entitled to, and followed the process to receive.

I never said I would cancel the trip. I said we would switch to offsite.

Just because something isn't important to you doesn't mean its not to aomeone else.

Did you call Disney as some have suggested or called the resort front desk?

Ii understand these bands are something you wanted to hold on to but what would you have done had they gotten lost in the park?

As I am others have pointed out getting a set from the front desk takes minutes not hours and you originally stated your concern was being held up at check in.

I don't think it's trivial! It's hard when you work so hard on planning to have everything just right and something unexpected takes the wind out of your sails.

A PP suggested contacting Disney to see if they will re-issue your bands and have them waiting for you at the hotel. Or perhaps they'll send them to you express.

I hope you have a magical trip. Here's some pixie dust for you! pixiedust:pixiedust: Let us know how it all works out!
