Magic Bands - lost children?

My understanding is that now you only get a "magic rose" if you do not have a magic band. Is this incorrect?

I remember getting the "Magic Rose" when I was there last year. And after I chose my table, I got up and went into the other rooms to take pictures. When I returned to the table, my food was there waiting. So obviously, they had tracked me via the "magic rose", not my MB, or else my food would have chased me into the room where I was taking pictures!

Not just that - they can pick up the RFID signals at a distance. If they have enough readers scattered throughout the park, they could locate the child to within a few feet. That is, if they build an application that would search for and report locations of individual magic bands when necessary.
Yeah, but the range on active RFID is about 30 feet. It's not pervasive coverage, but it can certainly narrow a search down to 100 feet or so.

Just curious, if a CM meets a lost child, where do they take the child? I'm teaching my daughter that there is no way a safe person will try to leave the park with them. So, I hope that is correct.

Anyway, I was wondering, if I child goes "missing" from their parents, can/does Disney use the Magic Bands to track them or the parents down? Having gone through what I went though, I hope I NEVER need to find out first hand with my two kids! But, although some think the RFIDs are a little "big brother-ish" I wonder if they can be used to increase guest safety in this way?

According to one CM I talked to this has already been used to help track down a lost child. But like most things CMs say you have to take it with a grain of salt.....for the record it was not a bus driver lol.

I had reservations for lunch at BOG on 2 separate days within a week. We got a rose the first visit, and the second visit, they didn't give us one. I had preordered both meals, so i'm not sure what that was about:confused3 This was earlier this month.

lost children are taken to the baby care center. I know this from personal experince

On our last trip, we had just finished test track and were looking at the cars and stuff after the ride, and I needed the rest room. I told my husband where I was going, and headed off. My older daughter decided she needed to go to, and (supposedly) told daddy, and started to follow after me. Niether one of us heard her. I did my business and headed back (never saw my daughter) and came back to my husband freaking out. DD was 11, but extremely shy. A very nice mom saw her panicking and took her to a CM. The CM let her use her phone to call me. She was missing for about 10 minutes (longest 10 minutes of my life) but the CM that waited with her did a great job of keeping her calm and reminding her that she was found, it was just the parents that were missing.

There is no way a child who is missing his/her parents is going to be taken out of the park. He/she will remain with someone until the parent is located.

We have had two different experiences with kids missing their parents and in both cases, the parents, after realizing they lost their child, retraced their steps and found their kids. We had already contacted Cast members and were still talking about things when the missing parents showed up. Missing parents usually don't stay missing for very long at Disney World.
