Magic Bands info for the new test dates in August

i know, but you are posting in all these fp+ threads that "IT" cant enable fp+ for specific people without enabling it for everyone, which we know is wrong.

Do we? Do we have confirmation that everyone who has customized bands and selected Fps were intended to be part of the test? Some reported being told they were not part of the test if they didn't get the email and to check with the front desk when they check in to see if anything can be done with it.

My apologies if it has been confirmed that everyone who was able to schedule FP+ really was an intended test participant. I might have gotten behind on some of the many posts today.

I'm curious what you have sent thousands of dollars for that disney has failed to deliver?

A vacation devoid of unnecessary time draining hassle?

I expect that if I log into the Disney site and it prompts me to customize bands and choose fastpass plus times, that they will indeed deliver on those times.

I expect that when they issue my ticket at checkin that it actually gets me through the gates at DHS without being diverted to guest relations while hundreds of people pour into TSMM ahead of me.

I expect when I ask at my resort if they can issue my tickets early and am told no, then am sent to the park to get it done, that they won't then print them back at the resort that said it couldn't be done. You know. The resort that said it couldn't be done. At a cost of over half an hour of rope drop time.

You know. That sort of thing.

Both the MB and KTTW will link to the same profile. It may matter if the FP kiosks have any concept of being "locked out" based on FP+ reservations...

Who will be the first to try and report back? :)

I already planned to try to double dip as well as try to book more FP selections after using the first one tomorrow so I'll let you know what happens.

Super. Will be looking forward to your report.

And hope you can use both + and - :goodvibes

Idea: Maybe start a new thread with your first-hand report? I know that another FP thread seems like the last thing we need right now, BUT....I'm thinking that it would be good to have first-hand reports appear as new threads, so those of us trying to find first-hand reports don't have to search through humongously long threads to find them. A good thread title like "OUR EXPERIENCE USING FP+ ON JULY 19" or something similar could be a big help, no?

Those would be bad, but did they happen? When did you cutomize bands and pick FP+ times that you didn't get?

I can do that. I hate to clutter the board more but if it's helpful I will make a new thread for first hand reports to help keep them in one place.

I'm a bit confused...you seem to be stating as a fact that they aren't able to selectively make guests "eligible", yet that's exactly what they did last time, based on location and check in dates at least. Just because it seems everyone checking in next month to one of four resorts is "eligible", doesn't mean they can't. They most definitely can, as I'm not eligible even though I've actually got TWO reservations, but neither is at a test resort. So they CAN selectively make people eligible. It may not be on a case by case basis, but they can do it.

Now, whether they haven't also made some mistake, which they have ALSO done in the past, remains to be seen.

Still waiting to hear the resolution from the posters who were told they had chosen FP times and customized bands but were possibly not part of the test.

The others were my own personal experiences on recent trips.

I'm arriving at Pop on August 4th. I never received a notification, but both the website and the app allow me to select bands and FP+, starting a couple days ago. Maybe at about the 17 day mark?

I'm arriving at Pop on August 6th. I haven't received an email yet, but when I went on the website tonight I was able to select faspasses, I spoke to IT at Disney and he said I should get an email on Saturday (which would be the 17 day mark) and he also confirmed I will not be allowed to get any other regular fastpasses.

This might work out okay anyway because now we don't have to get up at the crack of dawn (exaggerating) to get to the park early as I reserved all major attractions for various times during the day. I wonder what their reasoning behind their "best option" is? I didn't always select it as some of the other options were more convenient for me. IT also said there may be some other changes between now and when we arrive in August.

Thanks.

I'm not thinking so much of first-hand reports all being in the same thread. I'm thinking more of each person with a first-hand report starting a thread so that it is easily found.

That could make for lots of threads, of course, but folks who have trips coming up in the next month or two are probably especially interested in the experiences of guinea pigs....er, testers...who have gone before them. :goodvibes

And as time goes by and there are more and more first-hand reports, there should eventually be a decreasing need for them.

My mind is boggled with all of this.

I have made my FP+ selections and customized my bands but haven't gotten an e-mail, however I went ahead and did it because the website prompted me to do it. Now I have no clue what is going to happen. It is very confusing. I don't know if I should cancel my FP+ reservations or keep them.

I expect that too. If I didn't read these boards I'd have no idea there might be any issue at all so anything less is going to be an unacceptable resolution.

I'd bet top dollar you will get both an email invitation and an over-nighted UPS letter invitation stating you are part of the test on Saturday. I had not received anything prior to today, but had been able to customize everything and select FP+. Today I received both the email and the letter. Several other people have reported receiving the same on the 17-day mark. If not Saturday, then Monday.

The email invitation contains a phone number specifically for the test, and I reached a CM who was extremely familiar with it all and answered all of my questions. I have full confidence in what they told me.

As for the FP+, you know you can change all of the individual times to whenever you want, right? The first selections they give you are just ... defaults. You can change each one later.

Yes, I do know that I can change the times, I tried changing the safari to a later time but I already had the latest time available. I'm getting excited about trying this out.

Now if I can only get a BOG ressie, I will be very happy :)

I called that number, too, and felt really confident about the answers I got because the first CM I talked to was absolutely certain he knew how the testing would work. But, then I had to call back, and the 2nd CM I talked to completely contradicted the first one, and he was absolutely certain that his answers were correct and the first CM was wrong. And, they're in the same department, the one that's supposed to be able to answer our testing questions. :confused3

After getting over a dozen different answers -- to major and minor issues -- from different CM's I don't think I have any confidence left in them at all.

You and me both.:thumbsup2

Double dips are working just fine.

This info makes me SO HAPPY! Hope it's like this in August!!

Quick question: are you able to double dip while you have FP+ booked, or did you have to use all 3 FP+ before using regular FP?

You still have to get past the BLT test of July 22-25!

But, I do hope you get the opportunity. It would make for one great vacation. :genie:

This is my fear. I hope they don't change it for August testing.
