Magic Bands info for the new test dates in August

When you choose your FP+ options you are limited to 3. We received a bonus FP+ (Haunted Mansion) so we were at 4. BoG made 5 and I wanted to make sure if one went away, I got to choose which one it was.

You can switch your bonus fast pass to another attraction if you wish as well.

Thanks. Those are the things you miss using the DIS app.

I usually only use the app, but I wanted to see when people are going (in their siggy). Make sure if you go on Facebook to like Dis. They keep you up to date there too. ;)

We got our Magic bands last night and they are tied to our pop res and our Annual passes. I'm wondering if we will be allowed to keep and use them after the res is over since we are local annual passholders.. I'll have to remember to ask when we get there for labor day weekend.

I listened to the Disunplugged podcast at work today and it appears you can reuse the bands. It was brought up towards the end of the MagicBand portion and I was working so I didn't catch all the specifics. I'd ask, but it looks like it will...

These BOG ones are not FP+ and they aren't linked to your MB. They are a totally separate system. Don't even worry about it.

They are meant to be re-used.

We received our customized MagicBands today and I was also able to make a FastPass+ for BoG w/an arrival time between 1030 - 1045 (followed DisneyLover99's advice from a few posts earlier). It appears that you can modify your selections for the meal after you have made them if you change your mind. I was able to modify my sandwich and got rid of everything but the roast beef and bread. I'm holding on the Disney MagicBand test phone line to see if I need to cancel one of my existing FastPass+ reservations. Of course, I didn't wait nearly this long last night for another question...

Oh that's good to know. I just booked a BOG fastpass and opted out of ordering the lunch in advance b/c I couldn't order my DD's sandwich and side like we can in the restaurant. I'll have to go back and try again. Thanks for posting!

P.S. I found our MagicBands on the front porch this morning. Was super excited. I've tried mine on several times today. Yep..I'm a nerd.

Yes you can. I'm a local AP holder and have been using my MBs since July. I wanted the colored bands so we booked a 1 night at POP for tomorrow night and I've had those bands for more than a week and have been using them every day and I have FP+ booked out through the end of Sept. I can book up to 7 days of FP+ and each time a day is used I can book another day.

Does anyone know for sure if we book one night at POP we would be able to use the magic band and FP+ in September? And would you have to check in for it to be active?

That would be really cool. I would be willing to pay the one night fee for 112 to be allowed to use those MBs during our real stay in September.

Thank you so much for everyone's advise ! I was able to use the long # from my DME voucher and it worked! I am so looking forward to trying out BOG.:yay:

Do you have APs? I know this would work just fine with APs but I have no idea about standard tickets.

I have a few questions which I hope someone accurately answer:

If we have MagicBands, will we still get Key to the World cards? and would our KKTW still be valid for everything as usual, alongside the MagicBands? (charging, room key, park admission)

If we do still get KTTW cards, can we use them to get regular fast passes, even if we are using MagicBands to enter the parks? If I choose to make FP+ reservations, can I still get regular fast passes?

For the time being, yes, they appear to be giving out KTTW in addition to the Magicbands. Yes, they do all the same things Magicbands do.

Yes. For now, they are allowing KTTW cards to be used for regular FP, even if you are taking advantage of FP+.

Nobody knows how long things will stay this way (definitely not forever), but so far, that's how it's been since testing resumed this week.

That is the same information I got from the CM I talked with Tuesday evening. Since this is a test period, they are handing out the KTTW cards in case there are issues with the bands. Since they are backups, they will/should work as usual.

Do we get any sort of follow up survey asking for feedback?

According to the MM+ test invitation letter, yes. The letter indicates:

"Based on your participation in this test, you will be asked for feedback on your planning and trip experience from Walt Disney World Research."

They also need to hand out KTTW cards because many TS restaurants don't accept MBs yet.

Thank you. So I should have no trouble going to DHS for rope drop, getting regular fastpasses for TSMM and then using my MagicBand to ride RNRC with FP+? Right?
