Magic Bands fall off?

Mine popped open a couple times when holding my 2 year old on the bus. Thankfully it stayed on my wrist and I was able to reconnect it quickly. No other issues.?

I just thought of that very thing! Great minds LOL.

Yup mine too. I lost mine several times while picking up and holding my son. The way I hold him pulled on the wrist band and it popped off easily. Luckily each time I noticed and was able to grab and reattach the band. My husband and 3 year old never had any problems.

Yeah, I think without carrying DS we probably wouldn't have lost them, but when you hold a kid on your hip and then switch them around it gets snagged etc. Or when throwing them around in the pool, or taking your backpack off and on with a kid in one hand, it get's tricky and we never felt it when it fell off.

These had nothing to do with falling off, but we overheard a family at the bus stop and they just realized their son (looked 5) had no band on and he said he couldn't find it and this was the second time he had lost it, that sounded like no fun. I also witnessed a teenager taking his off and swirling it on his finger, it flew off into the bushes and they couldn't find it...tell your teens they have to pay for it if they loose it ;)

Our hotel (Animal Kingdom Lodge) offered us free "2013 green sliders" for our bands. If you slide the slider over the 2 attached bands it acts like a lock and keeps them together even if the teeth popped out of the holes. We didn't have any issues after using this little plastic slider.

Wow. Another thing to worry about. :scared1: We have two sets because of our split stay. Can we use either set at each hotel or should we mark them to keep them separate? Also where can you purchase those plastic sliders? They sound like a terrific idea.

Our front desk (Animal Kingdom Lodge) gave them to us for free. It was a little green glow in the dark "2013" slider a few mm in width.

9 days and they never fell off once. Dh is like a small child and kept taking his off and playing with it when in line, but even so, no issues. I was honestly really surprised since they look like they would fall off a lot.

Ours didn't come off, even down the tall slides at Typhoon Lagoon. It took some force to work the snaps to get them off. Maybe some people are wearing them too tightly or maybe some of them are made differently. The ones we have, it would be very hard for them to accidentally pop off.

If you still have them, could you maybe post a photo of one? I'm very interested in having them for our upcoming stay mid November, if they haven't run out of them by then....thanks! :)

Here they are :) BTW, they glow in the dark! Provided us with quite a bit of entertainment on the dark rides, LOL.

Our 12 year old dd managed to lose hers while goofing around in the line for sm. We were lucky and the cms were able to locate it. I wore mine on my purse strap and it never popped off even though my dh thought it didn't look secure.

We got the 2013 sliders at AoA - DH opted not to wear his but DD and I did.

We had no issues with the magic band popping open or falling off. We only took them off to sleep.

I never had a problem but my husbands fell of chronically. Think it is band not person dependent

4 people for 8 days and not one time did a band come off. We did have the 2013 sliders they gave us at check in ay AoA.

I never got a slider, but I've been wearing mine since Tuesday and it seems secure. I wore it in the pool and I've been taking a purse and/or backpack on and off constantly.

One of the little charms I bought for it did break off though. The peg stayed in the hole but the front part broke straight away. Oh well.

We used them last month (ages: 6, 11, and 3 adults). My dd (6) lost hers one night...not sure when or how, but it was gone when we got to the resort. Had to go to the front desk and they issued her a new one. Another time when I was picking her up her band must of caught on my shorts and it popped off, but we noticed right away and just put it back on. Mine also popped off one day when I was trying to get something out of our bag, but again it was very noticable and I just put it right back on. Overall, I'd say they're pretty secure, but I feel like you do need to be mindful of them, because they really aren't that hard to get off either.

Wow. Those are so cute. I wish all the resorts were giving them out. Did you have to ask at the front desk or did they just offer them to you? I heard they have covers and things we can buy for the bands. Does anyone know if we can purchase these little sliders as well and for how much? And thanks for sharing your pictures.

We stayed at Pop and they handed them right to us at checkin. I didn't even know they existed, so wouldn't have known to ask.

I'm not sure if if you can buy the sliders elsewhere... probably, it's Disney. Hahaha.
