Magic Bands fall off?

Not to hijack, but I was actually surprised at how uncomfortable they are IMO. I'm wondering if it's because its stuck in a circle in the box... has anyone tried laying theirs flat for a while to see if it sits better on the wrist? It keeps catching my wrist bone funny and feels uncomfortable to me!

Sorry to hijack your thread, but does anyone know if my 2 year old will get a band? The past couple trips they gave her a kttw card as souvenirs, so I was wondering if they would do the same with the bands. She doesn't need a park ticket yet if that helps.

I have had the opposite experience. Mine is so comfortable I often forget I am wearing it.

Someone on another thread suggested wrapping your band around a can, like a vegetable can, and letting it sit there for a while. Maybe that will help you.

Yes, your 2yo will get a band. You will not be able to make FP+ selections for her, but she will be able to go in with you for any FP+s that you have.

The bands are two-tone...a colored inner section surrounded by a black outer ring that can be removed. Simply pull them apart and have your 2yo wear just the smaller, colored section, which will be a better size for her small wrist.

Nope, no problems at all.

you were lucky, we had nothing but problems. everytime I reached in my pocket it snapped off no matter what way I hooked it. I SIL didn't even know his fell off in the pool at BWV until some girl foung it on the bottom ( they sink)and gave it to the lifeguard that was doing music with the kids. She ask over the mic who lost it and I was in the pool watching the kids dance and heard her and call my SIL over and yes it was his. They have a name in them and are not transferable:)

Here they are :) BTW, they glow in the dark! Provided us with quite a bit of entertainment on the dark rides, LOL.

Awesome!! Thank you so much for the tip :D

We never had an issue all week, but if you ask for the 2013 slider at check in we just kept the slider over the snapped part. Worked perfect! However, the jibits come off easily!

Our family of three hasn't lost a band, a slider or pop thingy in 8 days. My DS7 hasn't lost it which we thought he would play with it the entire time. We don't wear them the whole time because they are so hot and it's probably because it's hot and humid here this week.

I bought a cover for mine, and when I put the cover on, then snapped the MB, I had the ends tucked into the cover so they couldn't catch on anything. That worked really well. I liked having the cloth cover - it made the band more comfortable on a hot day.

The cover was about $7.

Yes by the end of our trip both of the little pegs broke on mine so I couldn't even wear it. Didn't have time to wait for another one though so I just tucked it in my purse and pulled it out when I needed it.

We were given the 2013 sliders when we checking into the Polynesian. They were great- I wish there were more of these to buy.

The charms that pop in were awful. Three of the seven we bought fell out. We found one and put it in a different hole and that seemed to work better. Terrible design IMO. They stick up and twist around so the get bumped/caught on things and fall out.

Our bands never fell off but we found two in line for the Laugh Floor. Fortunately both of them belonged to people not too far ahead of us.

I've never experienced a Magic Band popping off my arm. I have small wrists, therefore, I remove the gray guard Magic Band and just wear the color guard. A lot of parents do this for their kids as it definitely fits better on smaller wrists. :) Plus, the Magic Band looks prettier too, in my opinion. ;)

And when I return home from my Disney trips, I use my Magic Bands as a cable holders/organizers/tie. :)

Here's what I'm talking about...

Are some people sleeping at night while wearing their bands?

Yes, I have slept in mine every trip we've used them.

OP, in my trips using them they've never once accidentally opened and I have really tiny wrists, enough that I always need to take the gray part off. They've stay on through showers, bed, rough water slides, everything!

This thread is from 2013...for the record, though, I never take my Magic Band off and it's never fallen off in the 5 trips we've taken since they were introduced. I think they're perfectly comfortable. I am a huge fan of the Magic Bands.

Has anyone had any problems with their MB's popping off? After receiving it via UPS and taking a look at it, I am concerned that it may get caught somehow and pop right off. Anyone have problems with this?

I just got back from my 3rd trip with magic bands and my friend had a problem. We got to MK for the MVMCP and decided to do PotC before using the FP+ I had gotten for the Jungle Cruise. When we got to the JC she was behind me, and I was about to scan my band, and I heard her panicking behind me because she lost her band. So, we walked back to PotC and asked if anyone found it. We were waiting a while as everyone was checking and we were talking with the CM, Timmy, helping us, and he was asking what we had done so far that day, and what our plans were, I told him what we were up to and I mentioned that since we were trying to track down her band, we missed our JC FP+. Timmy very kindly gave us a paper FP so we could ride the JC. We were lucky, and they found the band and brought it out to us. When we got back to the room, I gave her one of my magic band sliders. Our wrists are super tiny, like kids size, so if you put the slider on the opposite side you can cram some of the extra band in there, and it really holds it on tightly. I told her, it ain't falling off now.

I didn't have any problems at all with my MBs on any trips. I don't sleep in them but had mine on pretty much everywhere during the day including the gym, on morning runs around the resort, and in the pool. They were like new when we left after 8 days of wear.
