Magic Bands/Birthday & Dining Ressie

My daughter will be celebrating her birthday on our trip. I added her birthday to my plans on MDE. My questions are, are there any special moments linked to the Magic Bands for birthdays and will they know at our restaurant that night? I made reservations but didn't see a place to add special info there. I may order her a cake, so they would know then for sure.

If yo want any special things I'd suggest calling and even then I don't think you're guaranteed. We've had it noted on reservations and received a special cupcake dessert. I would never rely simply on a website if it's something that's important to me or someone in my party.

I agree with rcraw. Call to let the restaurant know and let them know when you arrive. Same with the hotel.

When I went in November (we just happened to be there during my birthday and it was my first visit), my friend who made the reservations at the hotel, let them know ahead of time and there was a special birthday message waiting on our hotel phone! It was really cute!

There was no special birthday dessert as we were on the DDP and dessert was already included....

You can ask for a birthday button at the hotel or guest services (and some stores in the parks)

Can I ask how you did the part I bolded above? My ds and dd are both celebrating a birthday while we are there (their birthdays are only 3 days apart). I plan on calling the restaurants we have ADR on their birthdays and having them make a note of it. We have the DDP, so I'm wondering if they will add a candle to whatever dessert they pick that night since dessert is already included. I also am going to stop at by and pick up a birthday button for them.

I've heard that MyMagic is supposed to have the capability to "surprise and delight" guests with special greetings and such. So far I haven't heard of this happening in the parks. I think they have a ways to go on the basics before they move into that phase.

For now, adding the birthday to the dining reservations is what you should do. And ask for an "I'm celebrating" button when you check in.
