Magic Bands and Cancelled Reservation?

I am not sure which thread to post this on so hopefully someone can help! We ordered our Magic Bands and they arrived prior to cancelling a reservation. We made a new reservation for the same date and the system is telling me to order Magic Bands still. Do we order another set of bands or use the ones that already shipped linked to the cancelled Ressie? The reservations were made with DVC points if that changes anything! Thanks in advance!

Magic Bands are linked to your MDE account, not to a particular reservation. As long as you can see the Magic Band in your account, it will work for any resort reservations and tickets that you have. They will even work for future trips.

You can order a new set if you want another color, or you can just keep the ones you have.

It doesn't make a difference if it was a DVC reservation. Once you receive the Magic Bands, they will be good for any of your trips.

Thank you! I was hoping that was the case but wasn't 100% sure. We bought a couple of the specialty bands at the discounted price so we really want to be able to use them!!

For those paid for upgrade magicbands, they may charge you $14.99 each. That's the policy if you pay for upgraded MBs and then cancel the reservation they were ordered for.

Will they send me a new invoice or just add the charge to my card? We did rebook within a day so maybe we got lucky but I didnt receive anything saying there was an additional fee yet

When we ordered ours, before you could purchase them there was a thing that said you would charged the full nondiscounted price in the event of a cancellation. Not clear how much Disney enforces this.
 
Just to confirm ....I have several magic bands linked to my account that state "active"...this means I can use them interchangeably during my trip to match outfits or themes?
