i tried my 3 year olds magic band on him last night and he didn't like it at all. So if he just does not want to wear it what do you recommend? Do I just carry it in my bag and scan as needed? Does anybody have any pointers for getting 3yo to wear magic band? I've already took the gray part off so it's to small for me to wear for him. Any ideas are appreciated.

You can either carry it for him and just take it out to use as needed, or if you want him to wear it, make a game of it. Show him that he can put it up against the Mickey to scan and make Mickey glow! Once he uses it, he may like it better. Just wearing it at home is not really fun...

if for some reason he doesn't like it while there, maybe attach it to the strap of your bag? Then you don't have to go digging for it all the time and it's handy.

Yup - just keep it in your bag or wrap it around a strap or a lanyard or something. He def doesn't need to wear it. That said, my 2.5 year old didnt' like hers at home, but was adamant about wearing one in the parks to be just like everyone else. (Thank God they give them to all the people in a room, even toddlers!)

We kept our 3 year olds in our bag but she always wanted to scan it so she would wear it sometimes. Sometimes I wore 2 if we were going to need it frequently.

I wear it on a lanyard or around the star of my camera bag so it is easy to get to.

My 3yo also hated her band at home, but once we got there she was all about it. She even wears it at home now, just to "pretend" she is at WDW! They also sell accessories for the MagicBands might make it more fun to keep on.
