Magic Bands - am I being stupid?

I have just recieved my annual passholder magic bands - love the exclusive slider we get ;-).
Anyway am I right in thinking that you can use any of the your magic bands (we have collected six so far and they are all still active)with my annual pass? I am thinking that the "pass" is stored on your My disney experience account and not on any particular magic band. This is highly important as being a woman I wont want to wear a red band if I am wearing a pink outfit..........lol lol lol. I mean we have to be color co ordinated here people.
Also do I have to still carry the gold card we got for parking and discounts in stores etc or will the band suffice? Kinda hoping the band is the one stop shop and I dont have to cart all the other gear with me.

Yes, you can use any magic band associated with your MDE account.

Oh my goodness! I got my pass holder mb about a month ago and didn't know there was a special slider. I took it out of the box when I read your post and saw it. Thanks! I was even planning to take this band on my trip next month. Now I will at least take the slider!

HAHAHA! You are my new best friend, LOL! I guess the pull here tab should have been a clue! I didn't see the gold cards either! This is the 4th mb I have gotten, so I just set the box on my dresser. Who knew it was full of treasure? YOU KNEW, THAT'S WHO!

Yep, use whatever MB you want.

Yes carry the card for discounts. Won't hurt to bring your ID as well, to prove that you are you, and in case you want to order a drink and get carded. Oh and an insurance card in case you suddenly are in need of it. I also bring my CC because we've had room-charging fail on us before.

Basically, we bring everything we brought before MBs, plus the MBs.

You do still need your discount card (and possibly ID) to get discounts. The band isn't good enough.

You will definitely still need your ID when using discount card. I was asked every time for is a few weeks ago. We have APs, SIL brought his new MB plus his MB from Seot trip both worked as AP, room keys, FPS...I have 5...wish they offered purple!

I also have our DVC room reservation...How do I go about getting these magic bands ordered & delivered, & is there a charge for them, & if so how much??? Thanks I Advance...

You can't get your MagicBands from your AP until your pass is activated, which means you have to already be at the park. Your MagicBands for your room, however, should be available to customize right now in the MyDisneyExperience site/app.

There is no cost for you in either case. They're free for passholders and resort guests.

I really thought they gave you a number(maybe your will call number, or another one?), to use to activate the AP in your My Disney Experience(MDE) acct, so you could then set up your FP+ 60 days ahead(unless staying offsite, then 30 days ahead), and order your magic bands?

However, they are not "active" yet, and you also don't qualify for discounts, until you get the actual passes at the park. But this also means that the 1-year expiration hasn't started ticking until they're activated.

Only once the passes are active, will you see an option in MDE to customize and ship your second set of MagicBands.

What are the Gold Cards for?

To show that you have an AP for discounts, parking, etc. Because at some point some bigwig ignored the underlings telling them "but AP holders need proof that they are AP holders, something we can see and read and check that it's that person even if our technology goes down" and just steamed forth with the MB.
