Magic band question

Nothing goes ON the magic bands. You enter the ticket number into your mde account and link it to yourself, or whoever else on your mde the ticket is for, then you're set
 
Does disney program the band to my Tickets before mailing to me? Sorry I haven’t been to WDW since paper fastpasses!

If you are staying onsite, yes. If you take care of the tickets as mentioned above, you are all set.

No, that’s not the way MagicBands work.

Nothing at all is “on” or directly linked to a MagicBand. All they do is access the information in your MDE. So once a MagicBand is linked to your MDE profile, it will work for all purposes. Entering the park by accessing the tickets in your account, entering fastpass lines by accessing the booked FP in your account, allowing you to charge purchases by accessing your resort room account, etc.

That’s why people can have multiple bands that will all work interchangeably. It’s like having multiple copies of the key to a door.

No. Your band, if staying onsite, is already taken care of and will be sent to you ready-to-use. If you bought tickets through Disney they would also be automatically handled. Since you did not, you will need to enter the ticket numbers into your account to “link” them. Once that’s done, you can use the bands to enter the parks with the tickets you linked. ADRs are not a crucial part of this, but you can link them to the same account if you like.

No. Again, nothing at all is “on” the band. I can’t explain all the technology correctly, but you scan a band at a touchpoint, it reads your electronic “ID”. That allows the system to access whatever pertinent information is in your MDE profile at that moment. That information can be different from when you got the band, because you can be modifying things all the time.

Think of a band like a key to a door. Your MDE account is inside the door.

No, that is not the case.

The Magic Band only links to your My Disney Experience account. So any changes or reservations you make through MDE will automatically be reflected through your Magic Band.

For example, if you use all your fast passes at the parks, you may book another Fast Pass through the MDE app on your phone. Since the Magic Band is linked to MDE and not programmed with any actual information, your Magic Band will work when entering the line with those Fast Passes.
