Magic Band Question

We are heading to Disney in a few weeks and staying off-site. We plan on spending 5-6 days in the parks and also purchased the Memory Maker. Is it worth purchasing Magic Bands or should we stick with the cards? I have heard that in order to get Memory Maker pictures on the rides, you need to have a Magic Band. If I do pre-order the Magic Bands, can I link them to the cards that I already received on MDE or do I have to go somewhere in the park to do that? Thanks!

It's worth it if you feel you want them...they aren't necessary.

The thing about the rides only applies to the 7D Mine Ride.

If you pre-order them, you can link them to your acocunt when you get them.

The Magic Bands have the long-distant RFID reader, so your ride videos are automatically added to your Memory Maker account. If you do not have a band, you can always go tap the card at the area where they show the pictures at the end of the ride. The only ride where this does not work is 7DMT as there is no post-ride photo area or gift shop and, as far as I know, no way to get your photo without a Magic Band.

You could always just get one band and it will work for your entire party for the purposes of photos. You would like any bands directly to your MDE account, not your current cards. Once linked, they can access any tickets you have on your account for the associated profile.
