Magic band question

Our trip is for end of Feb 2015. Do we get the magic bands in the mail? Or when we arrive at the hotel? We are staying at POR. We are from Canada if the international thing plays a role in my question. Some people mention using the bands to get onto the MagicExpress....got me wondering. The trip is planned. Reservations. FP+. Just need to purchase the MM in Feb.

If you are staying on property you don't need to purchase the magic bands, they are included in your stay. If you haven't already recieved an email from Disney asking you to go on to mydisneyexperience.com to customize your bands, you will soon. After you customize they will send them to you. If you are going at the end of February there is plenty of time. I don't think it matters if you are in Canada, but then I don't live there so maybe someone from there can help with that part of the question.

We are from Canada too, going in Feb to POR. Wondering how we can customize when we get there? What about colour choices - do you get to choose?

As far as I know, you customize them ahead of time just like everybody else, it's just that you'll get them when you check in instead of having them sent to you.

Confirmed. When it comes to customization we Canadians get to choose our colour (with a "u") and select the name you want on them. They'll be waiting at the checkin desk at the hotel.

Yup. Ours were customized. Each our own colour and name. So I'll just wait for a letter or something that has our tags for magic express. 8 weeks!!!!!

If you haven't already go to https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/plan/bands-cards/ (create your account if you haven't already) and it should show everyone in your reservation and you can customize the bands. As mentioned, since you are north of the border they will be at the hotel waiting for you.

To get on the DME it seems like most people don't utilize the magic bands option anyway (or at least didn't when I was in line) and just have the paper DME sent them that has a bar code on it.

Last 3 trips we have used MB and CM asked us to scan MB. I did have paper things with me but buried in carryon.
