Are magic bands with the dining plan, resort specific. Do you have to be wearing the band that has your current dining plan loaded on it? I have a stay coming up that we change resorts times, so I have 3 sets of bands. Are my dining credits going to be all these bands... ???

I know your supposed to be able to wear any band that is in your mde account linked to your ticket... but the question I have will they all have your dining credits on them ??? We are doing a split stay x 3 and I want to know how close I need to keep track of credits and which bands need to be used ?

There's nothing "on them". All your magic band does is connect to your My Disney Experience account. Your tickets, dining plan, fastpasses are all in the account, not on the band. Any bands connected to your account are interchangeable.

Thanks so that being said I can wear my Contemporary bracelet even after I leave there and check into Animal Kingdom Lodge and my new dining allotments will be on the Contemporary bands too ? Sorry just trying to figure this out...

Does it automatically select to use the dining allotment that is expiring sooner first ?

Any of your MagicBands attached to your My Disney Experience account can access any of your vacation benefits (dining, Memory Maker, etc.). There isn't any information on the MagicBand other than an ID number that connects to the database that stores all of your benefits.

Now, if some of your benefits are attached to a future resort stay that you have not checked in for yet -- like one vacation package with dining for the first four days and a second vacation package with dining for the last three days -- my understanding is you can't use the second package benefits until you check in for the second reservation, unless you work some magic with Guest Services for early ticket access.

It totally depends on how your vacation packages/hotel reservations are set up (which you don't really say too much about). If you let us know a little more detail, we might be able to help more.

Someone else definitely step in to correct me if I have this wrong. Multiple vacation packages/split stays can get kind of complicated sometimes :)

These are all Disney Vacation Club stays there is no package but I do have different types of Dining plans purchased for each stay. Thanks for helping.

Also, if you find yourself with too many bands, you can always turn in ones you don't want/need to front desk and they will recycle them.

Our experience with this last April was that you HAD to use up all of the credits on one dining plan before starting to use the credits on a new plan.

We had the deluxe dining plan at BWV, and then moved to VGF where we had the regular dining plan.

DH and I went to eat at Gasparilla Grill at VGF to use a couple of counter service credits from our regular dining plan attached to the VGF stay. Turns out, we still had snack credits left on our deluxe dining plan attached to the BWV stay. This was on "moving" day.

The CM made us use up all of the snack credits before we could use the counter service credits on the new dining plan.

She said there was no way to override the computer system to "mix" the dining plan credits. Only one plan could be active at a time in Disney's IT system.

This was in April, and things may have changed, but just be prepared and plan accordingly!
